With the advent growth of the term Internet and electronic communication, the word cyber space has found its way into the today’s digital world. Each nation is keeping its focus on maximizing the opportunities relating to Digitization. The internet has found its reach into almost every aspect of an Individual’s life. This word has stormed into our methods of daily working. It has invaded our collective consciousness like no other. As the technology grows and ownership of computers increases, we competently navigate our way around cyberspace. We have starting using internet frequently for downloading information, reading and writing to newsgroups, and receiving and sending emails. These activities are very common in nature for the people of current generation.
Internet has now become a widely open source of connectivity and communication. It is not the case now that Internet connectivity is limited only in some parts of the world. It has become widely open source for people to gain access through large range of Information. Cyberspace represents the new medium of communication i.e. Electronic communication, which is fast outmoding or even replacing, more traditional methods of communication. It is a common thing now that people send emails in place of paper letters, we leave electronic messages on bulletin boards rather than pinning slips of card to wooden notice boards, and more and more frequently we are able to read texts on-line—in e-journals.
The physical objects of traditional communication (letters, books and so on) have now been replaced by new electronic objects. And, just as physical objects exist in physical space, so these cyber objects exist in cyberspace. All of this has made Information technology and internet most reliable way of going forward. There are in fact two spurs of cyberspace. On the one hand, we have virtual reality—a 3-D cyber spatial environment which humans can ‘enter’ and ‘move through’, interacting with both the computer and other human beings, as depicted in films like The Lawnmower Man and Disclosure.
On the other hand, we have the slightly less dramatic, but more sensible, world of networks of computers linked via cables and routers (similar to telephone connections) which enable us to communicate, store and retrieve information. By far the largest and most well known of these is the Internet— originally used for email, ftp (file transfer), bulletin boards and newsgroups, and telnet (remote computer access), and now even more of a household name courtesy of the World Wide Web, which allows simple stress-free navigation of the network.
The understanding of internet and its implications is very much limited when compared to its growing influence. The term cyberspace has stormed in to our consciousness. It has emerged as a new way of communication replacing most common ways of it. Our dependency on cyberspace can be understood from the fact that it provides wide range of inputs which are of great values. Sharing of information, downloading wide range of contents, easy access to several facilities form some of the valuable inputs provided by cyberspace.
