Things that Shape My Personal Mission Statement

Firstly a mission statement is a positive statement of intent. It clarifies ones purpose and is achieved overtime, it is built on and reflects one's goals, values, qualities and aspirations, it is motivational and encourages self-development. 

Now referring back to the brainstorming page each resource mentioned is a build up of my mission statement and they all benefit my well being. For example, boxing, this enables me to relieve my stress and also allows me to learn a new sport and benefits my self defence skills. I’m striving to become an amateur boxer by July. 

I also feel that a family plays an immense role on anyone's life because without a family you are basically broken, a family stays with you no matter what and I can say exactly that about mine, every family has their ups and downs but we learn to forgive each other and move on making us closer and we always help each other no matter what this benefits in my self esteem increasing due to the fact that I know that I have someone who’s watching my back. 

In Kendrick Lamar’s song DNA, he says “I got loyalty got royalty inside my DNA” and this resembles me a lot because I stay true to what i say and what I believe in, I also stay true my friends and family and most importantly myself. Being loyal just helps you be a better person because you are doing something for a purpose and you aren’t just doing it for fun this will also help me be focused on my future goals because i have to stay true to them. 

Now everyone has a past, and most of the time it is a bad past but you shouldn't let this past hold you back from your dreams or goals and that is why the saying “It doesn't matter where you start it matters where you end”, this quote impacted me greatly because I thought I was doomed due to my past but by understanding this quote I learnt otherwise and it keeps me motivated everyday. 

Another aspect that pushes me a lot is Rocky Balboa, from his struggle to his success Rocky has played an important role on many people including me and it has changed me for the good, he's taught me no to be greedy and to be grateful but at the same time don't be happy with where you are because you should be pushing yourself everyday to reach new limits, and it doesn’t matter how hard you can hit life, what matters is that how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. 

All these reflections have shaped my mission statement and is helping me change into a better and hard working person.
