Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is a fundamental normative instrument which plays a significant role of providing rights to both young people and children (Todres et al, 2006). CRC understands what the children needs and ensures that they are not discriminated. CRC is interconnected with both social and environmental factors and both play a secondary role. With respect to these factors, CRC ensures that children live in a favorable environment, safe, healthy and non-pullulated environment. The factors are also concerned with child development both socially and emotionally. In offering children their rights, CRC is concerned with a place which children themselves can feel satisfied, a place where they can implement life skills and more important interact with friends as well as the community in general (Todres et al, 2006). Considering the interconnection between the two factors and CRC, children should have a common right. Regardless of sex, culture, age and disability should live in a supportive environment and in this CRC ensures that similar situation should be in urban and rural areas and do this CRC puts effective measures which prevents social and ethnic segregation. Considering environmental factors, polluting industries should be located faraway from where the children dwells, schools or even places of work. The second principle with respect to the two factors is based on the idea that all children should have personal interest. This indicates that the decision made in relation to social and environmental factors should be evaluated with respect to the child interest. When CRS intersects with the factors, they state that children should also influence decisions (Todres et al, 2006). This means that they should articulate their views particularly on issues which directly affect them. Focusing on social factors, life and growth are fundamental issue which children should inherent. In this case, good health, emotional growth and supportive surroundings are the factors which CRC put into consideration in ensuring child right.

With respect to developmental theory, the community uses poverty approach to address the poverty issues. There are various poverty theories which help to find out what leads to poverty in terms of personal background and the theories also gives the root cause of social phenomena (Patton, 2011). Poverty is applied to developmental theories and helps the community to develop different strategies to solve the issue. The various ways in which development theory connects with poverty includes;

Poverty and individual deficiencies

Developmental theories are inserted through the dimension of individual liability for poverty conditions. The theory states that the level of poverty in personal life could not be there if only people worked hard and made better choices. With this theory, the community is able to implement the development theory by planning welfare programs which boost self-improvement and prevents people from making bad choice. Anti-poverty programs acts as a poverty remedy by setting primary goals to underprivileged people or else what is known as “workist consensus (Patton, 2011)”. It also implements strategies such as “self help” and income to prevent child from poverty.

Poverty and the systems of cultural beliefs

“Culture of poverty” is based on the ideology that poverty is caused by beliefs, skills and values (Patton, 2011). In this case, individuals are not liable following that poverty in them is as a result of subculture. This approach helps the community to come up with development theory by employing anti-poverty plans which are based on “welfare dependency” (Patton, 2011). The antipoverty plan in the society development will help the poor people to view culture as a thing which is associated with knowledge and one which is opportunistic. Also education programs in this case will play a vital role in offering socialization for poverty reduction. The development theory in the poverty approach will help the community to redefine the culture by using appropriate strategies.

Poverty and Economy, political and social discrimination

The developmental theory are implemented by first evaluating the poverty caused by these factors which leads to limited opportunities which hinders people to achieve income. According to poverty theory, socioeconomic factors have greatly contributed to poverty situations (Patton, 2011). It is apparent that in the economic structure, underprivileged people are discriminated in terms of low wages and they are always left behind. This is the root cause of poverty following that poor families they normally live a low standard life thereby increasing the level of poverty. This emphasizes the need for anti-poverty programs to the economic system. The development theory is achieved through social movement creating alternatives for helping the poor such schooling and housing.

Poverty and geographical disparities

The theory on economic agglomeration show that industrialization and similar firms increases the market and in this case insufficient social services and crime leads to poverty and the more developed area the more the number of poor people who are unable to live a high standard life (Patton, 2011).. Human ecology also explains how rural areas lack infrastructure which would lead to development. In this case, people live a poor life since they lack cost-effective activities as well as capital. The development theory is derived by focusing on the idea that ghetto dwellers are underprivileged. Despite that these people are well educated they lack jobs and if they get they work on low wages. This issue calls for anti-poverty programs to improve the depressed areas by developing local industries, enterprise zones, infrastructure investment and inclusionary zones.

Regarding child rights and poverty, politics play a major role of ensuring that every child lives a nurturing childhood. Child poverty is a policy issue in the government since it has been a controversial issue for many years. Government focus on long-term solution in addressing the child poverty by first dealing with the household issues which directly impacts the child (Minujin, 2011). Child rights are an internal framework which is used as tool by politics in reducing poverty and boost the child survival. The government normally focuses on UNCRC rights since they based on non-discrimination and other issues. The government also implements programs and strategies with goals of transforming child life. It implements targets and procedures of defending the poor child, provides extra support to desperate families and effective social conditions (Minujin, 2011). It strengths the CRC in providing right to childhood both wealthy and poor in the globe. International campaign with relation to UNICEF ensure that the girl child get the right for education, early development, violence security and discrimination. The government also uses right-based strategy in order to decrease the poverty and improve survival. To accomplish this, it implements measures which decrease the child mortality and infant and provision of effective healthcare.

Developmental theories can be derived from poverty perspective by understanding the root cause of poverty (Desmecht & Grietens, 2005). This is because; poverty is taken as the main issue which can have a terrible effective to child development. This happens as they are denied right to get sufficient food, health education among more. To eradicate poverty, it is important to first understand the root causes in terms of poverty theory in order to implement development theory. It is also worth to understand that poverty cannot be eradicated without considering social and environmental factors (Desmecht & Grietens, 2005). This is because; both factors play a major role in child development. Thus, the factors help the government with the approach of child right and particularly in coping with the child poverty. The government plays a major role in the child poverty since it hold a very important priority of providing a child right. The U.N convection with respect to the government has played a significant role of ensuring child right and reducing the higher rate of poverty and this achievement has been attained through political will (Desmecht & Grietens, 2005)
