The scientific method is about ordinary people doing ordinary things that includes you me and other scientists in the world. It is how scientists gather new ideas or analyze information The scientific method is a process or step taken to produce reliable results to answer a specific question, may be you think you dint use scientific method in your life but I can guarantee you do.
For Example: imagine you wake up on Saturday and you couldn’t find your cell phone that’s an observation then you do a little research by thinking about the last time you had it you suspects that it might be in your pockets of pants yesterday that’s a hypothesis when you check your pants you are doing an experiment but science in life don’t always goes as planned and you find no cellphone in your pants pocket so the second observation leads you to think again and recall (research) what else you did yesterday you remember (2nd hypothesis) that you put you cellphone in backpack during school so you decided it must be there and you go and check (experiment) and yes there it is (conclusion) life can continue and you are so happy that you share results with your best friends and explain why it took you so long to text them back.
These are the steps of scientific method and at any step you can go back and repeat the process.
Observation is done with the five senses of human body. In research we use reliable resources to support observation. Hypothesis is a perdition base on If and then statement. Experiment contains two types of data qualitative data Contains descriptions (e. g. soft, shiny, and thin) and quantitative data contain numbers (e. g. 5 cm, 10m, and 50kg). Once you know what type of data you are going to collect you can you can define the variables in you experiment. It can be dependent variable or independent variable.
Scientific method helps to generate new ideas in research methodology. In research process we design our study we got our questions and we got our expectations that how peoples and things will react in a particular way. The next thing is to carry out the research by survey a questionnaire or an interview or other available options.
Once we have carried out over research we can analyze our results and we compare them at this point to the hypothesis are what we expect. The thing about this is that even if we were right or wrong about this we are going to publish the result in both conditions because on both conditions we get some results. If we were right which means we invent something new and even if we were wrong we still added some information in the pool of research because all finding are the good findings under the eyes of research. It helps a lot in research process we assume or notice a problem and make an observation after the observation we make a theory base on either deduction or induction and then we test the theory with the help of experiment if the theory proves right it becomes a principal and if it proves wrong it still become a result. For propose a theory that people who drive bike fast will meet accident after we conduct experiment we find that our observation is wrong but we still proves that people who drive fast are not likely to meet accident so in both cases we have a theory.
