Well Illustrated Book About Middle School Student: Diary of a Wimpy Kid

The resume

Greg thinks he can start a quiet summer vacation but his mother has a big surprise. She says: We are going on a vacation together. Even Greg's father is surprised. But Greg's mother has planned everything. Activities for on the road in the car, lunch packages for everyone, and visits to nice places to see nice things.

But soon her schedule is going wrong: Manny, Greg’s little brother, falls asleep in the car. The motel where they spend the night is dirty and not nice to be in. They met the Beardos, a hairy smelly family who made a lot of noise during the night running into the hotel corridor.

The pig that Manny wins at a farm fair made a mess in the bathroom. They went to a place with the biggest popcorn. But it was disappointing because it was made of wood and not even very big. They also fed a bird. But the bird wanted more and flew in the car, grabbed the bag of chips made a mess. All the other birds saw that and came into the car so they had an accident.

They also went to a swimming pool. And a little boy poked someone with a pool noodle in the butt and blamed Greg. But he did not do it. The vacation that Greg's mother carefully planned is becoming a mess. For us, it is funny to read.

About Greg

Gregory 'Greg' Heffley is an American middle school student and also the main role of the book series Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He is believed to be based on Jeff Kinney when he was in middle school. Greg is very concerned about his popularity level and how he looks in public. He loves video games, comics, and being lazy, taking after his older brother, Rodrick Heffley. He takes up a lot of things from Rodrick (such as selfishness, and laziness)

My opinion

The funny diary from Greg is well illustrated. It made reading easier for me. Greg's story about the holiday is super exciting because you don't want to miss anything of all the bad luck his family has. I also read a lot of dutch wimpy kid books. Reading is not a hobby but I like these books.
