What is freedom? Is it a decided right? I think so. I think we were all born to be free. Freedom is something intentional and deliberate in our lives, and only we pick when it is bestowed upon ourselves. Freedom is defined from different aspects and according to individuals; freedom varies from one person to another. From personal experience, I would define freedom as the right to do what one wants, live where one wants, eat what one wants, learn what one wants, and choose which religion one believes in, without ignoring or harming other rights. To conclude, the small choices that we collectively make in our everyday lives, makes us independent from other individual’s. That is what freedom means to me.

One event in my life that makes me feel like I had the freedom to live my life, as how I want it to be has to do with my parents. My parents originally grew up in Poland and came over seas to the United States to make have a better life for themselves and eventually their family. If it was not for them coming over seas I believe I would have a different outlook on life. I feel blessed to live in the United States. I have complete freedom because I can express myself for who I am. That’s freedom to me. Be who you are and not what other people want you to be. I am able to make my own decisions and live life exactly how I want life to be for myself now and for the future.

Freedom has different meanings to other people. They have different aspects and what freedom means to them. Overall, I am who I am because of freedom. If it was not for freedom in the world life would complete different than what it is now. Freedom let’s you make your own decisions, and those decisions made makes you have your own consequences. Freedom is all up to what you want it to be.“I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do” – Robert A. Heinlein.
