One of the best renewable source of energy that being used in the Philippines is the solar energy. It lessens or reduce carbon footprint and the use of fossil fuels, and because of its efficiency it helps the country to save electricity costs. The energy that come from the sun gives us consistent and steady source of solar power. In the provinces of Batangas, Cavite, Pampanga, Ilocos Norte and Cagayan de Oro, we can find the major solar farms in the Philippines.
As long as we are alive and the sun is still shinning, solar energy will always be possible. There are panels that directly convert energy into a usable form of energy which is known as the Solar photovoltaic panels. The Concentrating solar power convert sunlight from the heat into mechanical energy. Solar panels are being used in the instillation of solar energy, and these panels can consume activities such as heating, and power the homes and buildings. There is also no need to find a new space for the instillation of solar panels most especially if it will be placed on a rooftop. Solar energy is ecofriendly because after the instillation, it will not emit greenhouse gases such as nitrogen oxide and carbon dioxide. In this case, we are helping the environment to become free of different damages. When the instillation is done, people may now enjoy the benefits of solar energy.
During summer, solar panels are more efficient as the country receives enough sunlight. Solar cells do not produce any sound or noise and there are no other parts that are in motion which makes them become long term and need little maintenance. The country may also use this solar energy to remote areas that do not have any access to electricity. During day time, solar energy uses batteries to store extra power that can be used at night. It gives beneficial effects to human beings as well as in the environment. People in the Philippines may now save a big amount of money when it comes to their utility expenditures since they are using the sun to generate electricity. Even though there are some disadvantages of using solar energy, there are still bigger percentage of the advantages that we can get in using it.
According to Solar Panels Philippines, the country can receive an average of 5.1 KWh per square meter per day because the country lies near the equator, the solar energy resources in the Philippines are significantly large. In 2016, the Calatagan Solar Farm has been starting to create power from the sunlight. In Western Batangas, farmers are generating electricity instead of growing crops. In 2014, SM North became the largest solar power mall that has enough power to energized 1K households. The use of solar energy became more efficient as people use the converted energy from the sun to do different activities in their homes.
Solar energy has the potential to save up to 20% of the total energy that was consumed. The installation of solar panel can be high but once it’s already working, the country will enjoy the benefits for many years. It is said that Solar Philippines will soon begin the construction of its next projects in Mindanao and Luzon that would generate a total of 500 MW. By this time, the Philippines can become more productive when it comes with the use of natural resources.
