Why Undergraduate Students Need to Involve in Politics

Politics around the world are going wild from day to day as the government reigns each country want to prove that they are good enough in the eye of the world. Every day in news we can see that many politicians around the world get into a meeting with other politicians to discuss about the current issues occurred from around the world. Moreover, some politicians also establish diplomatic relations with other country to maintain peace for each country. But sadly, these political things only been known by the elderly or people who are thirty years old and above. Many youth do not involve in this political things as they are not interested. What making things worse is that youth who are students, or undergraduate students who are smart enough to think, also do not involve in politics. Although some undergraduate student involve in politics, university will easily banned them from taking examination or send them to discipline act. Thus, undergraduate students need to involve in politics so that they can be good citizens, being a representative for youth and break the status quo in politics.

Firstly, by allowing undergraduate students to engage in politics, this can foster the characteristics of a good and caring citizen for the nation. This is because many undergraduates students are among those aged from 20 years to 30 years old and can think mature. It can also foster patriotism in amongst undergraduate students. They are more aware of the current issues of the country and the responsibility of being a citizen to think about government and politics. According to eVirtualGuru (2018), undergraduate students can be trained in fostering patriotic spirit and developing a responsible citizenry and becoming an important asset to the nation. When such features are nurtured while they are studying, they can be good and qualified when they have graduated from the university. Therefore, undergraduate students in any country need to be involved in politics to make sure they can become a good citizen and care for their nation.

Secondly, most undergraduate students belong to the youths. Today, in every country which politics is the main role to develop a country, these youths play a very important action. Various youth movements are set up to open the minds of young people in politics especially undergraduates who belong to this group. The voice of the youth is very important because when a government that does not carry out good responsibilities, the government that is heavily involved in corruption and also the government does not follow the right principles can be dropped or dismissed by the power of youths or known as youth voices. Youths can also foster arguing skills that can address young people's voices to improve the country. They are also trained to become a reliable leader. According to Global Young Voice (2018), youths always face complicated problems, but are ignored by the government. Through a credible youth leader, the best way to improve politics is with the youths as they will lead the nation in the future. Thus, undergraduate students which mostly belong in this group should involve in politics to become the representative for the youths that can change a country.
