A Controversy Over College Education: Worth It Or not

Is college really a good idea? That’s the big question everyone is asking. College is a good way to go, but for some it also is a pretty bad idea. There are ups and downs for both sides, whether or not you goyou still will hopefully live your life to the fullest.

Everyone shoots for college to get there dream job. For example, some want to go to college to become a Doctor. Others want to become a Lawyer. No matter what you want to do, you have to put work into it and that is how you would get into a nice college to become whatever you want. College is a good idea, as long as you really want to go, and you have the money to do so. If you really do want to go, you can decide (based on your grades and what you want to be) where, when, and how long you want to go. College does pay off, and you do get more advantages in jobs. You also get a better chance on getting a high paying job. More than likely if you go to college you will like a better life.

Think about it, college, is it really worth spending more time in school for an additional few years? Well, the answer is yes. College is very important in every way. It helps you in so many ways like, meeting new people and living in a completely new place. When you live in a completely new place you realize that you are finally grown up. People learn more especially about themselves when you have to figure out how to survive without your parents either telling you what not to do and what to do, also you learn how to actually survive. Also, you meet new people and see how they live. When you meet and interact with people it's like a good feeling that your not the only person that is completely confused and not sure how the whole ‘college’ thing works. You meet new people and it makes college a little easier.

On the other hand, college is very expensive and takes a long time to get into one. To get into an amazing college, you have to get perfect grades and work your hardest to have all A’s. College can range from $9,970 (pubic colleges) to $34,740 (private colleges). Most people are stuck with their college tuition for years. If you become a doctor, you need to go to college for about 12 years. That’s a lot of money to pay off to become a doctor. What if you become a doctor and you decide you don't want to be it anymore and you're still stuck with a fat bill that you can't pay off. College in many ways is a bad idea. Well, if you think about it, it does cost thousands of dollars. Some can pay it off, but others can’t pay for anything so they choose not to go. People who don't go to college can as easily get a job but they still can at least try to get a job as long as they work hard and try their best.

In the end, only 65.9 percent of people go to college for a few years. That is over half and really, everyone has a different perspective over it. Some say that college is an amazing idea and everyone should go, but a lot of people just can't afford it. Some do get into college and end up having to pay a massive bill, others decide not to go and end up not having everything they have ever expected to have.
