What Are The Biggest Problems Women Face Today in America

Feminism is a vice that most of the African American women are facing in the small cities they either live or work which was a consequence of civil rights since the 1960’s (Rowbatham, 2009). The women feel oppressed since they do not get the freedom they deserve such as the constitutional rights of voting. The women have been struggling to fight for their rights especially leadership positions (p.108).

I believe that black feminism in America in this century should have ceased. The black women should not be viewed as creatures who do not have the skills or abilities to perform the task as the white women. I believe that the color should not discriminate against any person from receiving their rights and freedom since everybody is equal in the eyes of God irrespective of the race or tribe. People should change their negative attitude toward women instead they should advocate for equality.

Gender Discrimination in the Workplace

In the past years, women were considered as the weaker being and viewed in the category of kids such that they cannot be given leadership opportunity. This was as a result of the outdated traditional cultures which lowered the dignity of the female gender. Since 1960’s women have been protected from leadership discrimination and also protected from sexual harassment in the workplace (p.111)

For me, everybody has the right to choose where and what kind of job what to do. There should be no discrimination that should hinder one from working where one has chosen. Women should also be protected from the hostile environment to prevent the incidences of sexual harassment in the workplace.

Same Gender Marriage

America legalized same-sex marriage in 2015 which was endorsed by the Supreme Court. This was a result of the increased cases unofficial celebration of gay and lesbian marriage. This decision was made based on the civil right and public concern of equal marriage (p 113).

I believe that gay and lesbianism is a matter of what one feeling and emotions. For me, I would not advocate same-sex marriage because it does not promote the virtue of procreation. Everybody is a product of the union between a man and woman. I think it is ethical to legalize it because it encourages more people and it shows the level of immorality in the world today.

Women in Politics Today

After a lot of struggle, the voice of the woman is being heard in America since 2001 where the first woman was given the post of being a congress (Alfred, 2011). Today America has the highest number of women in the higher rank position. Many women are now given opportunities to be leaders in the court which was the rare position for a woman to be appointed, they were considered as men’s work (p. 110)

I think that embracing women in the society is the best decision the American has ever done. Women are very significant in the society since they are very strong in dealing with some issues. I believe that when the voice of women is heard some of the problems that are faced by the women will be exposed and solved. Women always have a deeper understanding and experience of the difficult situation in life and when approaching some issues they do them perfectly.
