Why Organ Donation after Death Should Be Encouraged

Nowadays the number of people who need an organ because of a disease or maybe a medical condition. The time people need to wait for an organ is too long and most of them lose the faith. A big number of people may think that the majority of patients should wait until someone would have the intention to donate, but there are other options how we can save more lives.

When someone dies, not always the organs had been affected. Let’s imaging a car accident. Not all the organs are damaged since the driver or the pedestrian not necessarily are sick people. If unfortunately one of them dies, they should donate the organs that were not injured, because it would not be used anymore.

Furthermore, there are other situations where a person dies without having hurt any of our organs. We must be objective and take the things seriously, we have the opportunity to change a person’s life. We can give a man the opportunity to live with his family a little more time or we can let a child live a full live.

Actually, donating organs after death is not common in Peru because most of the people consider that we must respect the body of the person who died, but I strongly believe that if we have the opportunity to save a young live without making any damage we should take it. This act of humanity should be encouraged.

There are organs such as heart, lung, kidney which are very important, this is the reason why it is almost impossible to get one of them so that mane people died waiting. It is hard to face the death of someone who was very important in our lives, and this is the reason why we should help if we have the opportunity.

In conclusion, I consider that organ donation after death should be encouraged since it is an excellent opportunity to help people who really need from us. It does not mean that we are obligated to do something we do not want, but we must think about it and realize that helping others is what makes us human beings.
