An Entrepreneur I Admire The Most

When asked to select an entrepreneur I admire, I didn't even have to think twice about whom I would write about. Instantly, one name popped into my mind, Ana Parzych, the owner of a luxurious wedding cake business, known as Ana Parzych Cakes. Ana’s cakes are known for their realistic looking sugar flowers and piping. Now let me tell you a little about who Ana is, what Ana does, and why I admire Ana.

To start off, Ana Parzych lives in Cheshire, Connecticut with her husband and three children. Ana studied painting and graphic design at the National School of Fine Arts in Lima, Peru. Ana then moved to the United States and worked on perfecting her baking skills at The Culinary Institute of America, where she mastered the basics of designing wedding cakes, creating sugar flowers, and other decorating techniques. In 2006, Ana Parzych opened her first studio in Cheshire, CT and has become one of the top wedding cake designers in the United States. She runs the business with her husband, a daughter and a few staff members.

Ana Parzych starts her relationship with her clients with a personal cake consultation and tasting. During your consultation Ana provides a variety of cakes and fillings to sample, while also getting a close up look at different cake displays that have different techniques and styles. Using the knowledge Ana gained from the consultation, she sketches a few designs based on the clients vision. After the vision is approved by the client, Ana and her staff start hand-crafting realistic sugar flowers and other decorations that go along with the cake. All of Ana’s cakes and fillings are made from scratch. Each tier of cake has four layers of cake and three layers of filling, each finished with butter cream and fondant. On the day of the clients wedding or event, Ana and her staff bring the custom cake to life with all the last decorations.

I admire Ana because I have had the pleasure of working under her since 2016. I have seen how she runs her business first hand and makes me want to have a place just like hers. Ana does all the designs and finances, her husband bakes all the cakes, along with making the fillings, and her daughter and I create the sugar flowers and molds. It is amazing to watch all the work come together in such a short amount of time. It is honestly incredible the work she does and being able to watch her business grow more every year.

In conclusion, now you know who Ana Parzych is, what Ana does, and why I admire her. As a female entrepreneur, she is beyond incredible with the cakes she can create and the way she runs her business. Someday I hope to be just as successful as she is today.
