Intelligence is being able to function as a regular human being and being able to do the things in life that will propel you forward. Intelligence is doing something productive with your life. One may not have the means to achieve their life goals, but intelligence is having those goals in the first place. I used to know a girl that was extremely smart. She as a very bright girl, but she had no ambitions. She had no plans after high school because she simply didn’t care. She was probably one of the smartest people I knew at the tome but I wouldn’t by any mean consider her intelligent. Intelligence, in my personal opinion, is not necessarily a quality that one is born with. Someone can be born naturally intelligent, and others develop intelligence as they grow up. Different community and environmental factors can be conducive to helping someone gain further intelligence. Some are born with it, and some acquire it over a period of time. Some people are born into homes where nobody has intelligence, and they don’t at first either. But over time, this person can develop tremendous intelligence, they can build themselves up from nothing to become something. Others can do the exact opposite. They can be born into extremely intelligent homes, without any intelligence themselves. It can be a sad sight to see someone without any intelligence be surrounded by those with extreme amounts of it. Engaging in various activities, for example, critical thinking can help aid the grown of one’s intelligence. Exercising your mind can help intelligence grow and prosper. That is one of the primary ways that one can increase their own intelligence. Most people are increasing their personal intelligence unknowingly, unconsciously doing so day by day. Looking back, over time, they can see the change but they can’t see it immediately. Noticing one’s own lack of intelligence and taking the steps to change that requires, initially, a huge amount of self-awareness. One has to realize the intelligence they are lacking and accept that before they can try to change it.
Unfortunately, most people in life are simply blessed with varying levels of intelligence. Some have an insanely large amount and some have miniscule amounts of it. And then there are those who don’t have any intelligence whatsoever. Those who don’t have any at all, usually don’t get any better. It is usually required that one have at least a little bit of intelligence to realize what they’re lacking so that they can attempt to do something to change it. So that they can try to increase their own personal intelligence via various exercises and personal growth. The measurement of intelligence is entirely subjective, it can’t be quantitatively objectified. You can’t count or quantify the amount of intelligence one has. It’s completely subjective, you compare ones intelligence by comparing it to that of another which is why it’s a very controversial topic. Many disagree about where it comes from and whether or not one can change the intelligence they have.
