Analysis of Characters’ Style in Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars, is based on the Sara Shepard's novels taken place in Rosewood, Pennsylvania. The books and the TV show are two different things, the character names are same, but the storyline and the characters personalities are way different. Throughout, the first four seasons they display five pretty girls who have been friends since there were little. Aria Montgomery, Spencer Hastings, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin, and Alison Dilaruentis have been friends since middle school. After a slumber party they threw a weekend before Labor Day out of the five girls who were sleeping, spencer Hastings go outside to find her friend. When spencer looks everywhere to look for her Alison Dilaruentis is nowhere to be found. There is a bully in rosewood who has been targeting the girls, because all the girls, even the mean girl Alison DeLaurentis bullied the person. This bully is called A, whole story of this show is to figure out who A is. Then after the four seasons are done, they find out the first A and then there are two more A’s targeting all the girl, even the first A. “Pretty Little Liars”, has many unique wardrobe styles for each of the characters, Aria is an edgy dangerous person, Hanna is a girly girl, and Allison is a plastic version of a mean girl.

The first character in Pretty Little Liars who has a unique style is Aria Montgomery. In season four, episode five, in one of the scenes Aria wears an unnatural outfit. She wears a necktie skirt with a yellow and black cheetah top. She wears the craziest and most distinctive clothes that fit her own style. No one else in the show can wear the clothes that Aria wears. Another example of her style of clothing is when she wears dangerous, sharp earrings with a few of her outfits, which resemble the appearance of knives. The character of Aria is that she starts out to be a junior in high school. She kisses some guy in a bar the day of Labor Day and right before school starts, the next day she goes to school her teacher is the guy she kissed at the bar. Later, in the show, she falls in love with her English teacher and her teacher loves her back. Her style of clothes turns out she dresses up real slutty for her teacher, wears the short dresses and skirts.

The second character of this famous show is Hanna Marin. Hanna has a trendy, feminine, glamourous style, but changes from time to time throughout the show. Her character mixes contrasting patterns and colors worn with her outfits. When she dresses up to be a glamorous popular girl, she always knows what bag goes with her clothes. She is a person who wants to show off her legs; half of the time, she wears skirts rather than pants. Hanna has a massive shoe and handbag collection, and she is a very cheerful, flawless person for her style. In the first season of the show, she looks very girly, because she is the IT girl of Rosewood. She must wear clothes that are bright and colorful. The boldest and the most outspoken out of the four girls, Hanna makes very snaky and snarky comments. From the beginning of the show, she has worn more skinny popular girl outfits, before that she was a fat girl who ate a lot. She was only fat, because she was in between a divorce between her parents and she kept eating. Before, when she was in high school Hanna and the other girl used to bully a girl name Mona. Mona who is A in the show, has been targeting the girls because they have been bullying her. Hanna has changed her style of clothing, because of the A and that person is been sending her threats ever since Hanna started junior year of high school.

Finally, Alison DiLaurentis is a skinny typical white girl, who is a mean popular girl in her school. She is a plastic version of a pampered girl. She bullies a lot of students and feels good about herself, even though she is letting other people down. She dresses up so, she can show the world how her clothes is the best clothes and no one else can own them. Allison is a girly girl, but she has an edgy type of style. Often, Alison changes her style daily, but all her outfits share a common look: heels, handbags, and hair down. She mostly wears dresses, many different shades of pink, and, in the later seasons, blouses with floral patterns and some dark colors.

In conclusion, the styles of the three girls are very different, each character has their own unique style. Aria is more of a dangerous, nice girl, but very slutty for the love of her life an English teacher. Hanna she is chic, and girly type of girl, but also has edge to wear outfits out of her comfort zone. Allison, bully who likes to be aim people so they could feel bad about themselves. She is also a very selfish, most powerful person out of all the five girls.
