Did you know that our world has about 6,500 languages and maybe even more? Sadly, about only 20 percent of Americans speak a language other than English. The new generation of students is growing up in a society that is increasingly bilingual. While foreign language requirements have long been a core requirement for high school graduation and in general, second language classes at an earlier age would improve overall knowledge for most students. There are three reasons why should we have Bilingual Education in schools and in general.

First, Bilingual Education has an Academic Advantage. The new language is one of the most useful for any person, but most of all at a young age. During the first three years of life, the foundations of thinking, language, vision, relationship ability, and other characteristics are laid. It would be inappropriate to use the child’s natural ability to learn during his or her most vital years when learning a second language is as simple as learning the first one. Some of the most important advantages of bilingualism are that the child’s ability to concentrate, plan, multitask and memory is better than if they are monolingual. Children can also ignore distractions because their brains co-ordinate more strongly in bilingual languages, and this, of course, will benefit their academic performance in the classroom. There is often an argument that students should first get master in the English language before branching out to others but why they can’t learn two languages. They are able to demonstrate higher levels of cognitive flexibility.

Second, Early bilingual education increases free ownership in later years. Bilingualism at a young age also leads to many benefits that will help in the long run, such as getting into a prestigious college and having more career options in different shoots. The second or third language can increase your chances of getting into a more academically advanced educational institution. Tests in a foreign language a great way to stand out during admission to college. It is important to show them what you are capable of, at what level you are, and this can give you a beginning, allowing you to fulfill the basic requirements for the language in front of other students. As the world becomes more globalized in terms of a foreign language. Knowledge of the current in business is also valuable.

Third, this helps to eliminate international language barriers. There are also cultural benefits for those children who are learning two languages together. Children who come from different foreign places can provide their language knowledge to friends from another country and vice versa. Modern communication technologies eliminate many global barriers when it comes to socialization, business and much more. This also leads to joint learning. Programs in two languages and maybe even on three show students a broader worldview, regardless of the student’s native language, and lead to greater opportunities for joint learning. People should not restrict children in school, based on outdated principles.

In conclusion, People need to understand the impact that a foreign language has on people, and how people can change. I hope that we will be able to increase the number of bilingual programs and raise the percentage from 20 to higher, making more money for foreign language programs for young children. These three points academic advantage, early bilingual education and international language barriers will help us in this.
