Broadening Perspectives: What Do I Hope to Gain from Internship

“Advances in the field of technology can unzip the mystery of God’s creation”.

The enigma of life never ceases to amaze me. The advances in the technologies in the field of science have created growth and developmental opportunities in newer dimensions. Science is the field that revolutionizes our lives and is beneficial to the individual as well as the society. For being an element of innovation in this field and creating a better tomorrow for everyone, I need to arm myself with requisite knowledge. I envision this internship program is the stepping stone to a better career.

I am currently a senior honor student doing my B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Biotechnology in the University of Science and Technology Chittagong, Bangladesh. I have majored in Biology in my high school and have been a bright student in my school. During my honors program, I worked as a Junior Research Intern in the Disease Biology and Molecular Epidemiology Research Group (DBME), Chittagong and participated in a number of seminars, conferences and workshops. I have achieved so many awards for poster presentation, oral presentation, and idea generation. I have a future research interest in Molecular Biology, Oncology, CRISPR Technology, Stem Cell Biology, Nanotechnology, Epidemiology, Genomics and Bioinformatics.

As said, an internship is an opportunity to test drive a career without making any serious commitments, AJOU MST International Intern Program would be a new experience for me and a way to explore new scopes for research in my field of interest. I believe this program will help me broaden my perspectives. One of the most important things I can gain from this internship is newfound knowledge. Besides boosting my resume, it will also provide me with real-life hands-on experience. No matter whichever profession we’re in, networking is the fuel that accelerates success. Hence this program can help me enhance my network and ability to speak with people in a professional setting. These are the reasons why I am keenly interested in this Intern Program and to drive the future world with scientific research knowledge. And what do you hope to gain from this internship?

The research groups that would be interesting to work with are the groups led by Dr. Kim Wook and Dr. Choi Sangdun.

• Dr. Kim Wook’s research interest includes diabetes and cancer biology. Currently, both diabetes and cancer are significant public health challenges in Bangladesh, and being able to contribute in improving public health in Bangladesh will be one of my important research targets.
• Secondly, Dr. Choi Sangdun whose research interests include stem cell research and CRISPR/Cas9 have emerged as robust technology. Studying life at its molecular level has always been my interest; hence working with mentioned Research Groups would pave way to my interest.

I am very fascinated with the Intern Program that are carried out in the AJOU University and as my interest falls in the same line. It will be greatest of privilege for me if your University considers my application favorably and provides me the opportunity.
