Corruption. No matter how much we try to make something fair or serve justice, corruption always eases its way through it all. It is simply in the world around us, in our justice system, and in every government existed. People all around the world suffer from corruption in the government every day. This doesn’t exclude people involved in the government either–they can be targets of corruption also. One of the most famous victims of this is that of Princess Diana. Died from a car crash, they said. It was a tragic accident, they said. But was it really just an accident? Or was it because of racism and discrimination? Of disgrace or dishonor? Her death was definitely not an accident. The Royal family of Britain ordered the death of Princess Diana due to an engagement and supposed pregnancy to a non-Christian man after divorcing Prince Charles–actions that were looked down upon by the Queen of England.

Known as the “People’s Princess” for her charity work and fundings for victims with AIDs, landmines/explosive remnants of war, prisoners” families, and palliative care, Princess Diana was loved by the people of England and all over the world for her humbleness and care for the people (Biography Authors). Born on July 1st, 1961, she started off as Diana Spencer in Sandringham, England. Lady Diana met the heir to the British throne, Prince Charles, in the summer of 1977 and married him in 1981. She was the first commoner to marry British royalty in three hundred years, and bore two sons to him, Prince William Arthur Philip Louis and Prince Henry Charles Albert David. The royal couple quickly became a spectacle to the public eye. Soon after Prince William’s birth however, she had five suicide attempts due to their marriage going south with heartbreak, affairs, and scandals. The couple separated each other, soon divorcing officially and parting ways in 1996 (Biography Authors). Although she lost her royal title of Her Royal Highness, the public still loved and watched her closely. They were shocked as they came to discover a picture of her and Dodi al-Fayed, dubbed as an “Egyptian playboy millionaire” kissing on his yacht in the summer of 1997 (Historic World Events). Little did they know that the couple would soon come to such a tragic end together.

At 8:00 PM on the Sunday of August 30th, 1997 in Paris, the 36 year old princess and Dodi al-Fayed, 42, were walking on the main street of Paris, Champs-Elysees. At around 10:30 PM, the couple goes to the Ritz Paris restaurant, L’Espadon for a late dinner. The two walk out together through the backdoor of the hotel and go into the back of a black Mercedes S280 with bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones in the passenger seat (Jensen). At 12:35 AM, Henri Paul crashed the car into a concrete pillar in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel going 85 miles per hour. Dodi al-Fayed and Henri Paul die instantly at the scene (Historic World Events). At 1:20 AM, Princess Diana is found and rushed to the Pitié-Salpétrière hospital in an ambulance. The Princess had a major wound in her left pulmonary vein and was suffering from cardiac arrest while medics performed CPR and AED on her unconscious body. Bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones is taken to the hospital as well, succumbed in a coma and being the only one in the crash to survive. According to the hospital anesthesiologist Dr. Bruno Riou, “Diana’s body arrived in a condition of serious hemorrhage and shock… An urgent surgery showed a severe wound to the left pulmonary vein. Despite the closure of this wound and the two-hour external and internal cardiac massage, no official respiratory circulation could be established...” (Jensen). Unfortunately, the trying efforts to save the Princess’s death was no use. At 4:00 AM on the 31st of August 1997, Diana, Princess of Wales was pronounced dead. Diana’s tragic death shocked the world, people crying out and gathering together in heartbreak (Block). Looking back at her relationships and controversial actions involving the Queen of England, there is no question why fingers began to point at the Royal Family. The leading theory for the cause of Diana’s death was that the MI6 assassinated her and Dodi because the royal family and British Establishment ordered them to do so, and that the car crash was just a cover up. Mohamed al-Fayed, the billionaire businessman and father of Dodi al-Fayed, funded his own private investigation regarding his son’s death because he firmly believes that Dodi and Diana’s death was a cover up (The Telegraph Online). The claims are that the British Royal family could not tolerate Diana’s love for a man from another religion or race. After all, the heir to the throne is not allowed to practice any religion other than Christianity. Considering that Princess Diana is the mother to the heir, the royal family just couldn’t bear the possibility of the future king, Prince William, having a Muslim stepfather (Evans). Mohamed al-Fayed claimed that they loved each other, and that they were going to get married. Someone as close to Dodi as his own father, would know if his son was really in love. Unfortunately, their love story was cut short. But an engagement wasn’t the only reason why Diana was targeted. Rather, what Diana was carrying may have been the reason as well. It was found that at 2:00 PM on the day that Diana was pronounced dead, her body was illegally embalmed by Doctor Jean Monceau. According to French Law, medical professionals must have written permission and consent from her immediate family before doing so (NOT the family of her ex-husband). It is suspected that the MI6 ordered the hospital to this as soon as possible, as doing so would obliterate any traces of pregnancy in her blood. The formaldehyde used in the embalming process would make an autopsy impossible (Kelly). Mohamed al-Fayed believed that Diana was pregnant with Dodi’s baby and was murdered to prevent the mother of the heir to the crown from having a Muslim child. Mr. Monceau’s reasoning to the British and French authorities for her embalming was that he had to “make her “presentable” for Prince Charles and Diana’s sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale, who were on their way to Paris to take her home… before her body deteriorated in the summer heat” (Kelly). There was no written authorization to embalm her. Jean Monceau just deliberately destroyed evidence that had the potential to flip the entire investigation upside down, all to make her dead body look presentable; and on top of that, the entire procedure was ILLEGAL. When brought up in court, the French Authorities simply dismissed the situation. All of these key points in the investigation just aren’t adding up.

Mohamed al-Fayed’s private investigation has also brought up some more evidence that proves that the car accident was indeed a cover up of what really what happened that tragic night. According to TLC United Kingdom, in the Pont d’Alma Tunnel, there were ten cameras along the route that Henri Paul drove the Mercedes S280 on. All of which, according to the French authorities, were down the night of the crash (TLC UK). There was absolutely no video footage at all of the Mercedes crashing, or anywhere in that tunnel. To the government, street cameras are important when it comes to speeding tickets, regulating the law, or just catching criminals in the act. What a coincidence that all of the important cameras in the Pont d’Alma tunnel were not working the night of the princess’s death. The idea that the whole forbidden love story with Dodi al-Fayed and some haywire security cameras are to blame for Diana’s death may seem far-fetched and unbelievable at first. But, this one last crucial piece of evidence simply cannot be ignored.

In 1995, Diana predicted her own death. She knew almost exactly what was going to happen to her down to the very detail about a car accident. Diana wrote a note to trusted friends Lady Annabel Goldsmith, Elsa Bowker, Simone Simmons, and Lucia Flecha de Lima. In the note, she explained, “the brakes of my car have been tampered with… If something does happen to me it will be MI5 or MI6.” (ABC News). Before she wrote that note, she was driving along the highway alone and noticed that her brakes have been messed with, as they were not working. You may be thinking–maybe her brakes were actually broken and needed to get them fixed? WRONG. Ten months before her death, Diana wrote again in a letter to her butler and confidant, Paul Burrell, “This particular phase in my life is the most dangerous. My husband is planning an accident in my car, brake failure and serious head injury...” (TLC UK) It was scary how the circumstances she explained were similar to her actual death–car accident, running into a concrete wall without the driver using the brakes to stop it, and an intense neck and head injury from the crash. Diana knew that she was in trouble. She knew what was going to happen to her. She knew that her death was going to be covered up. She knew she was going to die.

The best argument that goes against MI6 involvement cover up theory that has not been addressed thus far is that the paparazzi and Henri Paul were responsible for the death of Princess Diana. The case goes that Henri Paul was three times over the French alcohol limit, as well as mixing it with antidepressants, while the paparazzi hastily pursued Princess Diana and Dodi al-Fayed. Believing that the couple had something to hide, the photographers chased the black Mercedes with motorcycles all the way down to the Pont d’Alma tunnel (Telegraph Reporters). The flashing bright lights of the motorcycle headlights supposedly blinded Henri Paul, the driver. The mix of his drunkenness and the blinding white head lights, caused him to lose control of the wheel and crash the car, ending Diana, Dodi, and his own life. This argument is contradicted, however, by more authoritative evidence. According to Josy Duclos, an old friend of Paul’s and owner of a bar next to his house, says, “[Henri Paul] never went away drunk… I have a bar, I know what a drunk looks like… Henri Paul was not one of those” (Lines).

Henri Paul was a pilot for 20 years, which required him to pass a series of blood and liver tests every year, in which he did. His Certificate of Physical and Mental Aptitude (which is the French version of Civil Aviation Authority) was signed and renewed by a registered doctor just seventy two hours before the crash (Lines). Surely, if Henri Paul was an alcoholic and had any trace of antidepressant drugs in his system, a certified doctor would not have signed that pilot certificate for the past twenty years. On the night of their deaths, it was found that there were seven photographers on motorcycles behind the Mercedes S280. After the car crashed, the seven paparazzi were taken into questioning. The court ruled that Diana and Dodi al-Fayed were unlawfully killed, “due to negligence from Henri Paul and photographers” (Newsweek Archives). When brought up in court, all of them did not attend the inquest regarding the Princess’s death. The French authorities also refused to use their power to force the seven to show up, but they had the full ability to do so. It was marked as unchallenged (Kelly).

Why was the entire situation dismissed like it was nothing? The Princess of Wales supposedly died because of them! If the British royal family actually cared about her death by the photogs, they would have used their power to get the best lawyer in the world to serve justice! Wouldn’t they? Unless they already knew who her true killer was and didn’t even bother with the case. Unless the paparazzi were just used to cover up the Brit’s dirty work. All of this evidence demonstrates that the paparazzi were allowed to leave freely since they were only blamed, and did not actually kill Diana; because the British Establishment did. It also shows that Henri Paul was innocent and a part of a conspiracy, seeing his clean record. This is what they WANT society to know; this is the cover story. As sad as it is, Diana and Dodi’s justice will never be served, because the government has the power silence her cries. Twenty years after Princess Diana’s death, rumors and conspiracies refuse to stop circling. She was loved all around the world for her kindness and love for the people, and most Brits feel like she was the most compassionate royal there ever was.

Diana and Dodi were slaughtered because of the royal family’s racist and discriminatory intentions, with an elaborate cover up to make it seem like a tragic accident. When there are that many coincidences, it becomes suspicious. Her death will not be forgotten. Her death will not be silenced. The people know. It is not accepted that her death was just an “accident’. With all of the evidence pointing at the royal family and the Establishment, it is understandable why, even after 20 years of that fateful day, people will not stop talking about her unlawful death.

Diana’s death serves a reminder that our world is not as perfect as we may believe it may be, and that everything is not as it seems. It also shows how corruption can become apparent in our lives, even if we do something out of love. Whether it’s been ten, twenty, or a hundred years, she will NOT be forgotten, and the world will continue to remember the corrupt inside jobs until justice is served.
