Crash: a Story About Getting Rid of Prejudice

From watching the movie "Crash", I believe we use stereotypes because it is prone for us to judge what others look-like and how he or she behave towards one another. As I go through college, I will see people from different cultures who may act as I practice and believe in the same things what I believe but I will not treat them any different. The reason you should not treat anybody different because you may not know where he or she is coming from or how much of hard a time he or she is going through. I believe we should not treat anybody different because you may never know how it will turn out because one day you might need their help but they may say no because how you judge them for their own feelings and whatnot. Because of this it will come back to you one day in a way you do not want to be. For instance, from the movie Crash when that cop sexually assaults the woman for doing inappropriate things to her husband in the car, the cop pulled them both over. He ordered both of them to pull out of the car and spread your legs apart and arms. He told the deputy let the man go and just stand there.

After that he told them their charges and he started to touch the woman like nothing could go wrong with it. He acted as if he could escape with it while his partner and her husband just stood there and watch the cop do what he is doing to the woman. Then after a while the woman he assault has got in a car accident and he tries to help her she figures who he is and starts screaming get away from me. The cop was startled and did not realize it was the same woman he sexual assault right in front of her husband and he just screamed at her "I'm not going to hurt you "he said.

After that, he helps her get out of the car before it blew up. By this lesson, you should watch what you say or do because ultimately you may ever know what outcomes might be. What I could do from this movie is I should just respect each of my classmates who have different beliefs than me. I also believe I should not judge others because of their background and their opinions because one day it may help me out. Throughout my college experience, I am going to have different opinions from my classmates about how they feel about my own feelings and how I am going to feel with their own opinion and how I should work towards their own judgment. The reason is that it will teach me that not everyone thinks the same and you should not judge people on their basis opinions.
