Culture described how things are and acts as a lens through which the world is viewed. Culture is a system of shared beliefs, values , customs and behaviours. School culture is based on people in it. Each school has a different phenomenon or mentality of school life. Every countries are most diverse in terms of religion, language, ethnicity and culture. Now, I am going to talk about the comparison of my Indian school and Columbia college. It is difficult to say which system is better. Both education system has their own benefits and drawbacks. In the upcoming paragraphs, I will discuss about some similarities and some differences. As in Canadian colleges has plenty of good infrastructure and practise a lot of technology. For me, coming from an Indian school, this all was fascinating. On other hand, in India there is very little or no practical study its all about theory.

Firstly, I would consider the education system of both countries. Canada has the most advanced education system from the rest of the world. From my opinion Indian system is based on high dose of curriculum so hard to qualify it we only focus on memorizing things rather than hand on experiments or practical approach. Therefore, there is need to add such aspect in Indian schools then it will be becoming the worlds best education system. In Canadian colleges you can choose your own subjects whereas in India there are already selected subjects in each class. It is easy to manage well academically at this college. However, more theoretically is huge burden on students. I would prefer the studies of Columbia college. In Canada instructors must hold state certification to teach although in India teacher can start teaching to elementary classes after getting master or bachelor’s degree. Teachers are addressed by both Sir/Mam as in Canada by Mr./Ms. In my Indian school there were lots of extra- curricular activities. The flag ceremony is common practice in India where students and teachers salute to the national flag once a week. The purpose is to raise a sense of loyalty. I found that an average amount of Canadian public spending is spent on education. In my opinion, the difference between the two countries appear from conditions and cultural background of the two countries. Canada is a developed country therefore its education system has a lot of advantages that we lack in India.

Here I argue that co-education schools are better than single sex schools. In India most of the schools are single sex. The oblivious reason for my claim is the fact that single sex schools break down to establish your confidence and ability to relate with the opposite sex. I was studied in single sex school in my home country but now I am in co- education Columbia college. Personally, I will support co- education schools. Another very strong aspect of this argument is that when we are with both girls and boys of our own age we get to know different kinds of ethos. Seeing that with numerous schools and colleges in India still practicing gender-based discrimination. Although in Canada the demand for admissions on girls in the same as boys. I whole heartedly believe that this trend should be changed in India. It helps to gain more knowledge and understandings along with the people of other cultures. When students establish relationships with the other gender they boost experience for later in life when both genders work alongside each other in all aspects of profession.

Apart from this, I would consider the rules and regulations of both schools. In my previous school I always wore school uniform whereas in Canada there is no any kind of rules and restriction of uniform. Most schools have declared on uniforms in India and there are several types of that can be seen through the extent of country. Uniform create a sense of equality among students. In Canada school teachers are stricter about copying and plagiarism. These types of arrangements are overall undetectable by teachers and usually operative. Personally, speak I have good teachers who are understand every problem. The relationship between a teacher and a student in Canadian schools is casual and friendly while in India communication is strictly formal. Students can communicate with their teacher freely. Mostly, in India the school days are very long. It usually begins around 9:00am to 3:00pm but enjoying a two-hour lunch break. On other hand, Canada classrooms structured are highly diverse than India. In a classroom teacher can structure learning groups that are diverse and devise activities that require each student to contribute the group. In India many schools will also have outdoor play or recess period during the day. Despite all things schedule of Canadian classes are well maintained.

Finally, there are many contributors to create positive school culture and atmosphere. Other visible beliefs that permeated the school culture included the teacher’s beliefs that they have impact on student success and failure, and student’s belief that they are also responsible for their own learning. I personally believe that culture of Columbia college is better than my previous school because teachers are really care about students and inspire their best efforts. It is possible these two school sites also have students with differences-based on academic ability, class and sexual orientation. Another thing Canadian schools organize field trips outside the school to visit places that are relevant to their education. The culture of the school is not something that can be left to chance, nor can it be something beyond our control. We have a duty to build a positive, responsive and dynamic culture.
