Improving patients' lives is why I chose a career in nursing. I believe my caring nature and hunger for learning fit perfectly in this field. Hospitals are tough places—physically, mentally, and emotionally—but I'm confident I can handle it. Plus, leading with kindness and working well with others is important to me.
I first saw the inside of a hospital when I was just a kid with malaria. It was rough, but it opened my eyes. There were other kids too, struggling with things like cleft palates, rashes, cancer—you name it. Seeing those kids suffer struck a chord deep within me. I thought to myself, “I could help these kids get the care they need.” Ever since then, every time I set foot in a hospital, I felt drawn to sick people, especially children—felt their pain as if it were mine. Compassion just took over.
My dream? Becoming a pediatric nurse at a place like St. Jude's. I'm planning to ace the HESI and NCLEX exams and land a job at a children's hospital. I wanna be that nurse who's always learning—stepping out of my comfort zone—and someone others come to for advice.
My aunt's also a nurse; seeing her joy from helping folks made me curious about nursing too. Nurses cover all kinds of patient care aspects. Sure, it's challenging, but that's what makes it exciting! As a student in nursing school, my passion grew stronger 'cause I found out I'm pretty good at this stuff too.
I love learning new things—it's part of why I chose nursing. Every day there's something fresh to learn from patients and colleagues alike. It's all about expanding my knowledge of techniques I'll use as a nurse forever.
Nursing isn’t just a good fit; it's rewarding beyond words. Helping patients fight for their lives feels amazing no matter their condition. My grandma said when you see patients getting better—count that as blessings from above! And honestly? I'm grateful every day for this chance to become one.
