My Aspiration to Achieve Great Education in Human Resources

Passion is the drive. In July 2016, I graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a 2:1, in BA (Hons) in Business and Human Resource Management. Now, I am planning to complete my master’s degree. Before studying Human Resources (HR), I always had the passion to be a recruiter. Now, I am a high performing recruiter in a well-known organization in Bahrain. During my studies in Portsmouth, we had workshops where we practiced the recruiter’s role, passionately excelling during mock interviews, evaluation and selection. I enthusiastically plan to continue in this field as I enjoy and look forward to helping people prosper in their professions and move forward with their career. My interest in developing creative and advanced ideas for my organization while developing in my field is what drives me to complete my master’s degree.

My HR degree has given me a strong foundation to my analytical skills. We were always taught to analyze and understand current world issues at workplace which developed my technical skills. In addition to that, completing my master’s degree will help me create more solutions for my organization thus, help develop and advance at my area of work. I chose to continue my studies in the United Kingdom (UK) not only because of Britain's higher education academic standards, but also due to the interactive way the syllabus is taught. The UK is famous for its multicultural and welcoming society, where a person can learn more about cultures and practices. This therefore leads to further learning about the business world. As a recruiter, I initiated our career page on our website where candidates can apply online instead of sending it through our support email or by delivering their resume by person. Everything was manually controlled, which made it harder to keep track of talented candidates. Also, I am handling the project related to initiating our new in-house assessment Centre which does not exist. Currently, to avoid biased hiring, candidates undergo employment tests through external assessment providers. Seeing such accomplishments and knowing I can improve pushes me even further to join your course. Apart from the above achievements, I face many obstacles at work where I am sought to deal with each issue in a different way. This may be due to HR’s complexity as compared to before. HR’s role has changed over the years which may be due to new regulations, more younger labors and technology advancements. This increases the need for me to broaden my knowledge about the general business practices to fully cope with the significant complexity of changes. Furthermore, I interact with many and nearly all departments such as Planning and Business Development, Marketing, Finance and Customer Engagement Support. Consequently, this increases my need to complete my master’s degree due to the breadth of my role.

My strengths include excellent communication skills, time management, innovation, team building and problem solving. Since I started working, my soft skills have been drastically improving. However, I believe I can improve and expand more on such intangible skills to be more competitive in the market as I acquire wider business skills. This will subsequently increase my opportunities for advancement. The market is in continuous search for unique individuals, and a more intensive course is what I need. Nevertheless, this will also help me significantly focus on my leadership skills and personal development. Also, I believe my interpersonal skills will drastically enhance due to the ability of implementing theories to relevant business issues. I greatly look forward to joining your course, knowing I will be more prepared and advanced with important skills and knowledge that I will utilize during my career path. Due to my continuous eager to learn every day, I am looking forward to enhancing my vision of innovation and management.
