My Career Plan in The Field of Accounting and Finance

Career planning is understanding yourself, setting career objectives, revising them and searching for the right career options. Considering this, I have come up with a plan that will best suit me to have a strong career path. Currently, I am employed by the institute of internal auditors as an administrative assistant and most of the influence on my plan is due to the opportunities availed by this job.

After a careful research on careers, I have set the following objectives. I intend to improve my skills that are relevant to the fast changing and dynamic professional world where being a traditional finance personnel is not enough. I have already started this by acquiring a certificate in digital marketing to understand better how to compete in a highly digitized work environment. I also intend to be more well vest in information technology particularly application software and the hardware part of it. These skills will make me a wholesome employee who can help in many areas of an organisation but monumentally being in the finance department. After attaining my masters and returning to Zimbabwe, this will propel me into administrative or managerial posts which will also need me to further my studies and get a professional qualification. I intend on getting it from the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants which them becomes easier as I am given exemptions on certain courses. After getting this qualification I will narrow my focus to internal audit and to be competent and qualified I will get certified by the institute of internal auditors global. This is something I’m passionate about work on governance and risk assurance.

Furthermore I will zero in on Certification in Risk Management Assurance. Earning the CRMA will help me in in risk management and governance, risk management concepts and focus on strategic organizational risks. The UK government is providing various types of aids to Zimbabwe to promote peace democracy and the rule of law for human rights are adhered to. This comes in forms of money at times and organisations and the government of Zimbabwe will require transparency and proper governance in the way these funds are accounted for, thus getting such qualification will be befitting. I am someone who has much attention to detail and a sharp memory and these will work to my advantage in this career. In the long term I will be providing consultancy services to various sectors of the economy. 

At the end, I want to be recognizing as a successful person who achieved all the goals he planned and left a positive impression in people’s lives. I will have to work as hard as I can to get that recognition and I am willing to do what it takes to get that point. I approach everything in life with positive attitude and lots of enthusiasm.
