Growing up, my family always stuck together. Even when my parents got into disputes, they would try their best to work things out. There were plenty of times they could have got tired of each other and broken up, but they always worked through it no matter the case and thought about their children. My siblings and I came first all the time. They cared about us so much, if the food were to run low, they would sacrifice eating to feed us. That how much their unconditional love is for us. I believe that the love and care my parents gave me has shaped me to be caring towards others. A few things my parents helped me a lot in life is the fact that they supported me and motivated me when I was unable to do it for myself. I am unconditionally grateful for their constant support, and I know that whenever it comes to events or emergencies, they would put aside time and effort to be there.
Aside from my parents, my siblings have been there to shape my life as well. Since my three siblings are older than me, they have been an enormous influence in my life. Having siblings has taught me lessons as to how to share, how to take a joke, how to stand up for ourselves. As many of us have siblings, we know how siblings can be annoying, but even through then, we still know we love each other. The best part for me is that as I grew older, I came to find out that they are my closest friends, we know our secrets, we give each other advice, and we have fun together. Overall having siblings has brought more laughter into my life, more learning opportunities, and learning from their mistakes, and most all, forever lasting friendship. I am very grateful to have siblings to encourage me in my goals on what I would not do and who I want to become. No matter what I choose to do with my life, they support me and strengthen me without ever judging me. My point is that with my family, I have created a special bond with each in one of them. We love and motivate each other, and that helps us get through life being confident.
My favorite thing about family is that as we get old, we can connect to the past through the memories that we share. One of my favorite memories I share with my family to this day is when we camp. It all began when the first time we took a road trip to Utah to visit Zion National Park. I remember it was around fall when the weather was a bit cool. My dad had rented an RV and convinced us all to go. At that time, we all never been camping, so we agreed to go for the experience. When we arrived, The scenery was beautiful. Everything was peaceful, pure, and vibrant. The air smelled delightful, the aroma smelt like rain, wet tree trunks, and flowers. The light of the forest played with the shadows and colors between the trees, making the view a lot more appealing. Our experience was splendid. We were able to hike the trails, be in touch with nature, and at night we were able to stargaze. At that moment, everything was perfect. There was laughter, joy, and happiness that filled our hearts. There was good energy flowing through all of us that day. From then on, we always go back to that park to spend quality time together. Going camping has become a tradition, and I believe family traditions nourishes a family connection, giving us a sense of belonging.
Overall, the influence of family has affected my life enormously. They affected my life in the way that they are my inspiration. They have shaped me for who I am today. Throughout the years, I have taken their advice and learned from their mistakes. They have shown me all aspects of how I should live my life through their experiences, like education and work ethic. Their past experiences also teach me how to live my life the best way possible. For example, my parents did not finish college. Not finishing or not going to college can take a toll on your life. If my parents finished college, our life would have been more successful financially. Even though we were not well-off, my parents worked hard to give us the things my siblings and I wanted. I lived happily because of my parents. Also, the most meaningful lesson I have learned is that we always need to stay humble and appreciate and feel gratification on even the smallest things. Applying this valuable lesson to my life has led me to live a more content life. I am grateful to have them in my life, and everything I do is for them. They will continue to inspire me, and I will never stop taking their advice because I know they want the best for me. I am glad that we have managed to keep peace and harmony within our family.
