A marketing plan is a formal business document that contains guidelines and goals for a business entity. A personal marketing plan (PMP) is much like a formal marketing plan, however the subject that is being offered in this case is the individual. A PMP is a way in which one would market themselves to companies by displaying their unique qualities and attributes that give them the upper hand when compared to other individuals as well as giving a general overview about how to market themselves for their future career. This report is written in hopes of delivering valuable information to future employers as well as paving the way for my future career.
I am currently a junior at Appalachian State University working towards my undergraduate degree in Risk Management and Insurance. Upon receiving my degree, in May 2020, I will pursue a career in large bank risk management. During my time in this major, I have learned to love continuous innovation, change, and have developed a drive for working in a competitive atmosphere.
According to TrackMaven, marketing segmentation is the process of separating a potential market (in this case potential employers) into different groups based on their unique characteristics (White, 2018). Each group should have very similar taste when it comes to wants, needs, habits, and location (White, 2018). Breaking down my potential employer market into groups will help me better market myself to each employer rather than marketing one way to all.
Geographic Segmentation is the process of dividing the market into different groups based on their. I am currently marketing myself in Boone, NC and the greater Charlotte area as I have hopes to gain a full-time position with a large bank entity in Charlotte. I am also open to moving outside of North Carolina if it is a last resort.
Demographic segmentation is the process of dividing the market into groups based on characteristics such as age, gender, income, social class, ethnicity, and place of residency (White, 2018). I am a 19-year old, Caucasian, female residing in Boone, NC and I make around 12,000 dollars annually.
Psychographic segmentation is the process of dividing a market based on characteristics such as social class, lifestyle, and personality (White, 2018). I am a currently considered a middle-class person. My lifestyle can be considered moderately active and my personality can be described as reliable, sincere, and passionate.
Behavioral segmentation is the process of dividing the market into groups based on how they feel about a product.
