It always amazes me whenever I look up into the sky at night. I sit there and wonder, is someone else out there looking back at me too? I have always been very interested in space and astrophysics; and your paper really drew my eye to this. Here on earth we seem Big and Important. However, in reality, we are just a measly point on an ever-expanding plane. It amazes me about planet CFBDSIR2149, every planet has a story of their own, just like the earth we live on.
To be honest, I have never really gotten into planets as I have been with stars. There are just not enough planets that have been discovered yet. Stars on the other hand are being discovered left and right. Stars are all different, some are big and some are small. Each has a life of its own. Counterintuitively, the larger stars have a shorter lifespan than the smaller stars. This is caused by the increased rate of fusion inside the larger, hotter, brighter stars. That is starting to sidetrack, so let us move back to planets.
I really want to rant about my views in the past decade. Pluto is still a planet! I still consider it one of the nine planets of our solar system. It shocked me whenever I heard that Pluto was declassified. I do not understand why one would declassify something that is so close to us. A solar system is like a family, with the sun(s) being the parent and the planets being the children. Declassifying Pluto is like giving your kid away for adoption. That is how I feel about planet CFBDSIR2149. It seems that he was shunned away from his family, and is now wondering alone by himself. I wonder if there are many other planets like this one.
I do not know why I am writing this Science Writing Response like this. I am just going off random tangents that pop into my head. I do not understand why I am thinking a planet with feelings, or why I am thinking about planets as living being. It must be something in the water… On the other hand, it may be true. I really wonder if there is someone looking back at earth and thinking the same thing that many of us do. I hope that this will all be discovered one day. It may not be in my lifetime. However, I hope that someone in the future gets the joy out of extra-terrestrial life such as some people do today. Thinks makes me ponder. What if life existed in our solar system before today? There is evidence that the moon and Mars contained water, the most important element for life. I think that even if we cannot find life on other planets that we may be able to settle on the moon and/or Mars one day. As our technology exponentially increases, this may become reality one day. We will all just have to wait and see.
