Have you ever felt the need to do something to fit in or you feel like you’re being forced to do something? Scientists have done a survey and there was only 10% of the world that haven’t been influenced by negative peer pressure. That means that 90% of the world has been influenced by Negative peer pressure. Today I will be persuading you to believe that peer pressure is a problem an that no person should be influenced by negative peer pressure.

You may be thinking how can peer pressure be positive, it isn’t just about teenagers encouraging one another to put their lives at risk or engage in unhealthy behaviour. As well as there being many negative ways and behaviours about peer pressure there are also many positive behaviours peer pressure sometimes peer pressure can be good in a person’s life. The way the positive peer pressure can affect your life in a positive way is your actions and your main outlook on life. If you are someone that has been influenced by positive peer pressure you will generally know if they are encouraging, you to do something good or bad its simple. If someone is encouraging, you to do your homework it is positive pressure even though you may think otherwise. But if someone is encouraging you to do drugs you will immediately know that this is not a good thing to be pressured into. Now that we have spoken about positive peer pressure let’s talk about the negatives.

Lets just say that you and your friends are at a party that was said to be supervised by an adult but it isn’t and your friends start talking about how cool it is to take drugs and drink alcohol and they tell you that you need to try some but your family have told you otherwise. You are now finding yourself in a pretty bad situation hey? You start to think oh well a little won’t hurt. but really it can change your life. This is a small and quick scenario of negative peer pressure. Negative peer pressure can be as small and telling you to bully someone to as big as taking drugs and putting your life at risk. Negative peer pressure can as you already know can change your outlook on life and your behavior. Negative peer pressure makes you feel useless, helpless, stupid basically anything negative emotions. As for you parents out there, I’m sure that at some point in your life your teenager has come up to you asking for help of for your opinion on what to do because all of his/her friends are wanting them to do it but they don’t want to or you yourself can remember going up to someone and asking the same thing.
