Art materials such as paints are being used by numerous people of all ages, whether a person is a child, middle-aged or old. It is known that certain metallic compounds or chemical that contains metals can be found in these can cause problems particulary in health, moreover if these are being used more frequently, it is mostly risky for children (Shammas M, et al. , 2017). Having said that, 134 cases of accidental poisoning in children have been reported, children belonging to the age group of 1-3 years are the main victims. Children aged 1-3, an age at which the child is curious and liked to put things into his or her mouth (Sarker AK, et al. , 1990). Painting or art materials can be very harmful most especially to children for it contains chemicals that is not healthy and worst hazardous to human health. Most art materials uses elements that has toxic or it itself is toxic, hence, it is a very big risk to expose the children to these art materials that we traditionally use (Rebelo, 2015).

There is also a survey, and in the survey conducted among (14-15 years old) that are engaged in art materials. 80% children and individuals who uses materials that is oblivious of the risks and labels is dominant-- that counts around 80%-- than the indiviadual who is fully attentive about the materials that they are using. 35% are the individuals who's aware of the risk that they might take upon using the materials but do not bother knowing the label and 30% were the ones who read labels. Unfortunately, the indivuals and children who obtained enough knowledge about both risks and labels has the least percentage which rage on about 12. 5% (Shammas M, et. al, 2017). One of the art materials is paint, to create a paint an individual may use pigment. Dry pigments or powdered pigments can actually be dangerous and threatening because it can be inhaled in an instant. Poisoning may occur through such accidents as eating, drinking and pointing of any materials that had pigment on it. In fact, one of the toxics that can be found in an inorganic pigment is called white lead or flake white, that might cause and lead to severe damage such as anemia, brain damage to children, kidney damage and damage in reproductive system (Princeton University, 2018). Furthermore, the toxic known as lead is a metal and it can cause health and environmental problems and issues. It is greatly hazardous for children that it might lead to severe illness such as damage in brain (Tiwari, 2013). In addition to that, lead poisoning or plumbisim is the intoxication of our body system to compounds that usually containing lead.

These could enter by means of breathing of the component or by ingesting it that comes with food or other factors that it will be contaminated with lead. Lead poisoning is the leading cause for hazards in different parts of the world. It will be more deadly and dangerous if continues exposure will occur (The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia, 2012). For more example, nickel can also be found in pigment used as paint. Nickel exposure through breathing, eating and drinking can cause higher chances of development of cancer, larynx cancer, and prostate cancer. It also causes respiratory failure, asthma, and heart disorder (Lenntech BV, 2018). Inorganic pigments that are also composed of cadmium, cobalt, chromium or manganese can generate extreme poisonous and dangerous wastes in unregulated manufacture. (MacEvoy 2015) Also, cadmium like lead, is toxic element when you directly or inhaled this element it can cause disorder or damage on your body, this element is use as one of the ingredients of art paint that possibly have a high concentration of cadmium (Bernard A. , 2008). Therefore, products that contain chemicals would be harmful in any living things, it can cause problems to an individual's health and to our nature (Swedish Environmental Protection Agency).

According to Phillips (2016), Paul Klee, a Swiss German artist was plagued with Sclerodema a range of disorders in which the skin and connective tissues tighten and harden. These kind of illnesses are commonly link to heavy metals that were commonly found in paints most commonly the cadmium that is used to enhanced the brightness of the color. For an instance, another composition of inorganic pigment is the cobalt. Cobalt is one of the main ingredients of watercolor. It has become hazardous to the environment for it cannot be refrain to enter the environment, for it is being absorbed and inflicted in soil and water sediments that may affect the production of plants and also cam affect the health of animals (Domingo, 1989).

Exposure in cobalt can cause toxic level on your body. There is a high risk if it is expose in human, it can harm organs, but not only in human also in all living things (Edward, 2015)Benefits of Organic Powdered-Pigment Used For PaintOrganic Pigments has the advantage of as it possess the absence of heavy metals. Heavy metals, considerably, the opponents of the environment. (DeltaTecnic, 2016) These heavy metals can be found in an inorganic pigments as lead that is sold in the market. In an environmetal concern and perspective, creating and using plants as a pigment which is considered as organic can actually reduce the number of problems in the environment. Flavonoids is one of the pigments that can be found in plants. The most common class of flavonoids is known as Anthocyanin (The Gale Encyclopedia of Science, 2016). Anthocyanins are a class of water-soluble pigments extracted from fruits and vegetable that range its color from blue, red and purple colors in nature (Elsevier, 2018). The health benefits of anthocyanins are; it enhance heart health, defend against cancer, protect against diabetes, support neurological health and response, and wards off colds and flu (Yance, 2016). The coloring property of anthocyanins were only known, but people now is having interest in anthocyanin pigments for the reason of their probable health benefits like dietary antioxidants, that helps to prevent neuronal diseases, cardiovascular illnesses, cancer, diabetes, inflammation, and many such others diseases. (Yousuf, et al. , 2015). In addition to that, a type of flavonoid, also a class of compounds with antioxidant effects is the anthocyanin. Anthocyanins' benefits include anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and anti-cancer. (Wong, 2017)Furthermore, anthocyanin has the polar molecule character what will allow its solubility in many different types of solvents such as water and alchohols (Rodriguez-Saona and Wrolstad, 2001). The most common polar solvent on Earth is the water. Polar molecules are attracted with other polar molecules (EduArt Multimedia). Purple yams contain anthocyanin which indicates that purple yams have polar molecule. If being converted into pigment, it will dissolve in water that will finally can be use as a pigment to create paint as watercolor. Having said that, purple yams have anthocyanin that gives them its color purple. It also has the value-added dyestuffs that can be used for obstructing illness, such as cancers, diabetes, and other microbial infection (Khoo, 2017). Moreover, root and tuber crops which is the family of purple yam has a lot of benefits to human health. It is given that these plants gives a lot of benefits to our body but it is also investigated that it is also used for medicine and it is being explored in terms of wellness and disease risk reduction (Chandrasekarar, et al. , 2016)

Consequently, antioxidants are the compound that is distributed to all purple foods such as food products. But most of the foodstuffs that are existentially purple they are consists of anthocyanin which is significant to human bodies because it can protect us from diseases (Lienard, 2017). Having said that, it says that purple yams are very healthy and are purple inside. They also contain a lot more antioxidants. Plus purple yams have beautiful purple color which is amazing, and they contain lots of minerals, vitamin A and C, and many more healing agents (Haider, 2015). On the other hand, purple yam is one of the food people eat today. It is a yam species and tuberous root vegetable. It is usually used in different dessert recipes and flavor to various delicacies. Aside from that, there are many health benefits purple yam can provide us (Mills, 2017). Purple yam is one of the common ingredients used in recipe here in the Philippines and it used to add flavor and color in desserts in the United States. The nutrients that contribute its vivid purple color are where its greatest potential health benefits lie (Martinac, 2018). Purple yam is proven to be versatile and composed of different health benefits as we are looking forward to create pigment from this vegetable that actually possess important roles. Purple yams are belong to the family of Dioscoreaceae specifically under the group of genus dioscorea. This family is one of the fundamental sources of food in many tropical countries. Yams can also be reformed into flour by peeling off, slicing, blanching, and sun-drying. Purple yam (dioscorea alata L. ) is being refined into powder, which as famous known as UBE in our country; it can also be used for coloring of confectionary products (Moriya et. al, 2015)Purple yam contains carbohydrates that are responsible in providing energy to our body which we use so we don't feel weak, and tired. Another health benefit of purple yam includes antioxidants which are related to blood circulation in our body. Purple yam also contains minerals which helps to the health of the heart, blood vessels, and blood. (Mills, 2017)

Purple Yam has the ability to be transformed into powdered pigment. Because this plant contains variety of anthocyanin which have something to do with the process of possesing high pigment of the fruit (Hayashi, 1996). Dried or dehydrated vegetable powders are commended for its attributes as it provides longer shelf life while retaining its vitamins and minerals for health. (Chiarello-Ebner, 2016) Having said that, powdered pigment from vegetables can actually lasts up having its important properties intact. Yam as purple yams have a very low fructose and sugar content (Jacob, 2017) and according to the study conducted, ants are most attracted with sweet food this is mainly due to sugar provides high energy (Kozynina and Fung). If purple yams are being used as a pigment to create paint, ants won't be attraced to the surface where purple yam pigment is being applied to.
