Can you believe that one of the most influential scientists in history married a pigeon? There have been many significant people that have brought about change in the world of science. Arguably the best known inventor in the world is Thomas Edison. However, Edison just pales in comparison to Nikola Tesla. Nikola Tesla goes unnoticed by most humans around the world. Most people tend to credit Thomas Edison with the invention of electricity that now powers the world today. However, this isn’t true. The true inventor of electricity is the immigrant, from Croatia, Nikola Tesla. Nikola Tesla had five labs throughout the United States, but the last standing lab is right here on Long Island. And another thing yes, he did marry a pigeon in central park. His lab and work on throughout the country had a major impact on the surrounding area. Nikola Tesla was a distinguished inventor whose work is able to change the daily life on Long Island, by developing AC generation, wireless transmissions innovations, and changing the science industry in the present area.

One of the major ways that Nikola Tesla affected the area of Long Island and the world is by developing AC generation. The AC induction motor is would allow the areas on Long Island to function. This is shown by areas, such as Brookhaven National Laboratory where they are run by various power supplies. They need this power from alternating currents to be one of the top scientific institutions in the country. One of Nikola Tesla’s major works with Alternating currents was with his partner George Westinghouse. The name Westinghouse might be familiar to many people today as it is an electrical company founded by George Westinghouse. Together they were able to revolutionize and change New York and the world. They built the first hydroelectric power station in the world that would lead to future developments that would allow the world to be electrified. They called this station to be the start of the electrification of the world, which was an important development in Long Island. It truly allowed for areas, such as Long Island to be developed and to be turned into what it is now. This power station also lead to future power stations that would eventually lead to most of the world to be powered. As a result there would be suburban areas like Long Island. So, in the end, Nikola Tesla truly caused Long Island to be such a prosperous place. Westinghouse would even go on to help Nikola Tesla develop the Wardenclyffe tower on Long Island that would lead to major innovations in wireless transmission. This AC induction motor is still used in many places in the world and has lead to developments in sciences. Even today scientists are trying to expand his knowledge and inventions. In addition, this his induction motor is used throughout the world in the industry and household appliances. This would affect the industries on Long Island and the settlements that were happening on Long Island at the time then and now. Moreover, it started the industrial revolution at the turn of the century. This would go on to cause people to expand into regions of Long Island and settle down, such as areas like Levittown.

In addition, Nikola tesla was able to affect the world and Long Island by his innovations in wireless transmission. According to teslascience.org it states, “In reality this is a far cry from what the father of radio, Nikola Tesla, had in mind when, near the turn of the last century he set out to design what he called the World System.” This is a quote that shows how the world today is deeply influenced by the technology that Nikola Tesla was able to accomplish in his lifetime.

Some of these ideas and devices that would let the citizens of Long Island communicate, and more importantly it would lead to the technology that now lets the economic capital of the United States distribute information throughout the world. Furthermore, Nikola Tesla’s innovations in wireless technology would lead to companies on Long Island and throughout the world to work to improve his technology and modernize it. This can be shown in labs, such as Brookhaven National Laboratory. Moreover, during Nikola Tesla’s life he was able to develop technology that is used daily in the life of many that live on Long Island. One of his major inventions was the quintessential innovations that he was able to accomplish in wireless transmission. However, now the world is using different technology, than the what the father of radio had in mind. Now they use new high-tech telecommunications to overcome to stumbling blocks in the modern era. Lastly, Tesla was able to develop and advance the science industry situated on Long Island. Not to mention, Nikola Tesla invented AC generation, transmission of AC currents, and lastly created the way we use energy today. This influenced the science industry on Long Island by Brookhaven laboratory. Brookhaven is working on trying to convert the current world’s energy source. They want to make it more efficient and sustainable. Nikola Tesla lead to this discovery because he created the current energy source and standard of AC currents. This standard is now being tested and changed. The hope to advance the standard greatly has affected both the science field around the world and long island. Their technology that is powering the systems and devices in the laboratory are powered by the AC currents that Nikola Tesla invented. This is the most well known laboratory on Long Island. The laboratory was influenced by Nikola Tesla, since Nikola tesla primarily developed the first energy technology and advances. This lead to the start of energy developments in the Brookhaven national laboratory. This technology is also the center of thought in other laboratories around the world, not just Long Island. The scientists always have a drive to advance and modernize technology, thus explaining the reason of the scientists on Long Island to find an even more efficient and advanced system of electricity. Similarly, Nikola Tesla’s other inventions are also being tested and evolved to suit the advancing human race. This inventions include the remote, and wireless transmission, and how they have evolved and developed the scientific achievements on Long Island.

In conclusion, the Nikola Tesla was a distinguished inventor whose work is able to change the daily life on Long Island, by developing AC generation, wireless transmissions innovations, and changing the science industry in the present area. Without Nikola Tesla it is clear that Long Island and many areas of the world would be different from what it is today, as he is one of the largest scientific influences on the world.
