Personal Statement Communications

Like a camera, just focus on what's important and capture the good times. I have a passion for capturing moments since you don't get the same moment twice in life. Plenty people believe that you shouldn't capture the moment and live it, I believe that capturing your moments today will wow your hearts tomorrow. What I like about photography is the cherishing moments that go on forever and can never be reproduced. Nowadays, we are able to communicate through a variety of means. I live in a country which is obsessed with social media and posting everything on Snapchat and Instagram including myself.

I find it remarkable, inspiring and a little bit frightening how the media exercise control our lives since everyday they are developing more and more ways to communicate. Over the years, I have come to the conclusion that my interest photography, media, public relations, and business in general have developed I had experience into taking professional photos and posting it on the media. It is something I enjoy doing and in the long run would make me happy. I had a chance to experience the media sphere through a variety of different perspectives, which have helped me to develop a unique set of skills and a critical outlook on communications. Communications is and always has been one of the important things in our society. My interest in the major began through two classes: video production, and introduction to digital arts. I’ve slowly been gaining practical experience alongside my academic learning by knowing basic photography and photoshop skills. In general I really enjoy making films.

In Introduction to digital arts, we used a program called Adobe Photoshop, which introduces the basic skills and techniques into photoshop, and hopefully next semester I’m going to be taking an advanced digital arts class. This class really shows how to use Photoshop correctly and how to make small things a big deal. Through encouragement from teachers and family, I have gained great confidence and interest in the media. I have great ambitions, and self-determination to carry me through a challenging university degree. Communication makes sure we are able to share our thoughts, feelings, goals, and basically everything in our lives. The idea of entertaining people has always excited me.

So far, I have enjoyed myself in my studies and hopefully have developed some of the skills and qualities for success in degree-level communications, media, and business in general. Social media has a huge roll in our lives it has so many advantages and positive effects that it outweighs all the disadvantages. In the future, many more objections will be made against social media. It hasn't win against face-to-face communications, but it definitely does not lose so for all these reasons I think that communication through social media has so many advantages that it can be seen as valuable to the world.
