At this class session, we completed a test, in attempt to meet the given goal. The aim was to count the amount of times, the white team passes the white rubber band ball. Even with the aim in mind, it was still quite challenging for me to withhold the overall goal. Not only was I unable to count the number of passes but I also missed the visual of the “Black Belt Gorika” created. The missed opportunity to count or see what was meant to be seen, could have been due to the lack of focus and the acceleration, in which the action was taking place.
I leant that sometimes when given an objective, there can also be an obstacle added. I before had a misconception that “science was permanent” but I have come to realize that it is an adaptation. Meaning that science is always changing and there is no set scientific law and or theory. As new observations, experiments and evidence is always being put forward to test. Personally speaking, I thought that a sub-ordinate could have been the one to source food for the camp. In order, to safe guard Wegener who still had countless findings to give for evaluation to support his already proposed evidence. Consequently, he died and all that he was able to prove was that the Theory of Continental Drift was due to
I am still trying to comprehend how this course can benefit me in my discipline but I am guessing that it is a way for me to develop critical thinking skills. That way I would be able to make an impact on the social environment and the issues surrounding it. It is very enlightening to learn about new topics that relate to society and how science has influenced globalization. With that said, I look forward to gaining new knowledge and learning how re-evaluate what I think that I may already know.
