Submarines during World War II had a huge impact on naval warfare due to them being the first underwater fighting machine. Submarines caused huge amounts of damage to enemy ships and still cause huge amounts of damage during modern warfare today. During World War II submarines were very limited meaning that they were very rare. Less than two percent of the Navy had submarines. Submarines changed how the war was fought due to the destruction that they caused among enemy ships. If you had a submarine you were very fortunate. Submarines were very stealthy and that's one of the major keys that they played during World War II. Enemy ships never knew when a submarine was around because they did not have radars nor the technology to detect them underwater. Submarines were very deadly due to them not being detectable and also “the submarine was transformed from a fast surface ship that could hide briefly under water into a true underwater boat” which meant that they were harder to find. It could be said that “Submarines are very valuable attack vehicles”.
The “main weapon used by submarines is the torpedo”. What the torpedo did was they were an underwater missile that would make contact with the enemies ships and they would cause huge amounts of damage. So much damage that they would cause other ships to sink. When submarines were first introduced to the navy, they were very complicated to build. When the ships were done being built, the navy would have the ships taken to a lake to test and to see if the ship development had any issues. Submarines helped you win battles. Submarines were built for stealth and destruction and that's exactly what they did. Submarines affected who won the war because if your navy owned a submarine, you had the upper hand. Due to you having the upper hand, you were able to destroy enemy ships and take out more and more of the enemies navy. On the other hand if your navy did not own a submarine, you had the disadvantage. You had the disadvantage because while on your navy vessel you did not have radars at the time so you could not detect underwater combat machines (submarines). Since they didn't have radars they could not tell when a submarine was about to strike. When a torpedo made contact with the ship it would cause a lot of destruction to the ship.
Submarines during World War II had a huge impact on how the navy is setup today. Due to technology advancement, more navy's own submarines, and mostly all ships have radars on them to be able to detect the submarines. Some ships contain special radars that can detect torpedoes heading towards the ship. Ships also have a defense mechanism in order to stop torpedoes. Now that ships have a defence mechanism (fast attacks and bombers) ships are a lot harder to sink. Modern Submarines now have more and better attacking methods. Some submarines come with decoy torpedoes. What the decoy torpedo does is it is sent towards the enemy ship. The main objective or point is to get the ship to deploy its defence mechanism. If the ships deploys its defence mechanism, then there is a second or even multiple torpedoes sent to hit the enemies ship. During the battle of the Coral Sea (battle fought during World War II) the Japanese and the U.S were fighting and the Japanese won due to being very tactical. Both of them were great Navy's but the Japanese won due to being tactical and that's exactly what submarines were used for, strategy and being very tactical.
Modern naval fights will have a winner within a day. Modern Navy does not include just water battles. During April of 2009, “Navy seal snipers rescued an American cargo ship captain unharmed and killed three Somali pirates.” The captain of the cargo ship was held hostage inside of a lifeboat. Due to the modern technology, the navy was able to locate where the lifeboat exactly was and save the captain of the cargo ship. Due to strategy, the navy distracted the Somali pirates and when it was clear to fire, three navy members all using sniper rifles, eliminated all three of the Somali pirates keeping the captain hostage. Modern ships would not have radars if it weren't for the submarine and if the radar would have never been invented, the captain might not be alive today. Since the modern Navy had radars, they were able to save a life. If the technology advancement had not happened many more people during modern warfare would be killed each and every day. If the submarine would not have been invented, there would have been a technology advancement. But due to the submarine there was a advancement in technology and since there was a advancement in technology less people are killed. If there was no technology advancement more people would be killed. Submarines had a huge impact on World War II and they will continue to have a huge impact on wars even today. From submarines being one of the stealthiest navy inventions ever, to now being one of the most popular Navy fighting machines, they will continue to always have an impact on World War II and still will have a huge impact on Modern Warfare. The modern Navy will continue to advance the naval technology because of the submarine. If the submarine were never invented that captain would not be alive today and those Somali pirates could still be alive.
Submarines During modern Warfare cause huge amounts of damage to ships. Ships also have a huge impact of modern warfare because they have special radars that detect submarines. Even tho submarines cause huge amounts of damage, they can still be stopped. Submarines can be stopped by ships because ships have radars that detect submarines. When the ships detect submarines the ships can launch missiles to destroy the submarines. Submarines can still stop ships even when the ships try to destroy them. During World War II submarines were impossible to stop because of the technology back then. During the time of World War II if they were to have our modern technology the submarines would not have been as big of an impact. During the time of World War II if they were to have our current modern technology, less and less people would have died because Submarines could have been prevented. But since they didn't have that great of technology submarines killed multiple people. If they had our technology less people would have died. But since they didn't have our modern technology hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people died. If you were a poor country during the war you basically should have just given up because you didn't own ships, submarines, planes, or tanks then why are you in World War II because you basically already lost the war. If you were a poor country and didn't own any planes, tanks, or submarines and you were trying to defend your allies then you were basically dead.
Modern Technology compared to technology during World War II had a drastic change. If the submarine were not to be invented then technology and modern advancement would not be like what it is today for the navy. Technology today is different than it was then because now we can just make more and more improvements to what we need to fix and when will know when we need to fix it. Back then technology was not as improved as it is today and because of that people had to figure out what to fix, none of these advancements would have happened if it weren't for the submarine.
