Importance of Respect in Daily Life

Respect plays a role in everyone’s everyday life. When we go to school we should show respect to all people. When we go home we should show respect to our parents and siblings. We should show respect to all of our family members especially our elders. Respecting others should make them respect you as well.

If you’re not respectful then you will be disrespected. You should always be respectful to others so they will treat you the way you want to be treated. There are things in life in which you should always respect. Respect for yourself, others, and respect for property. Respect is taught to people everywhere and it is even taught to many people through their religions. Respect is a very important aspect in life, it will help you succeed in many different ways.

Respect for yourself is very important to a person because it can be the balancing factor of your life. If a person has no respect for themselves the will most likely go into depression. Respecting yourself is also important for your self-esteem. When I looked it up in the dictionary, I found out the dictionary definition is to show regard or admiration of something or someone. I see respect as a universal characteristic. Respect to me, is a way of showing someone that you think highly of them and well, respect them! Respect is a very important part of life. If a person is respected, it makes him feel good and in return, he or she respects you.

Respect is important to me because if a person didn’t respect anyone, he himself would not be admired, and over time, he would grow up to be a very rude and inconsiderate person. Rudeness and kindness are also two very big components of respect. If you are rude to people or a person, you are disrespectful. If you are purposely mean or nasty to people, you are disrespectful. Respecting teachers such as Mr. Wellman is a very important part of education and life. Teachers feel good when they are respected and tend to be less grumpy and nicer during the day. Respect is also important in today’s society. If you want a job and go give an interview for one, and you are rude to the boss and you are disrespecting him while he is addressing you, you will never get the job. Bosses like respect because they know you will be a good member of their company by helping others and working with others. This is also the way it works with teachers

I think respect should be used in everyday think respect your teacher and everyone. You don’t just show respect in home. You should show respect everywhere. When you show respect everyone will respect you. I see respect all the time, that’s what makes everything so easy to do and no one gets sad. If I ever saw someone get knocked over and there stuff is on the ground scattered all over, I would definitely help him pick it up.

When you help people they will help you in other way. When I show my teachers respect they will show me respect and they will now that this kid is nice and maybe the teacher will be nice and help him bring is grade up in the future. And i think that that everyone should show respect at home to your mom and dad there the ones that care about your future and they want you to be the best one in the world. Respect your dad because he works all day so you can get a better life than others. Respect your mom because she love you and she helps you but on clothes when you were baby to the age of 8. Respect your brothers and sister because guest what if you don’t show them respect they will remember how you were treating them when they were kids and they will not help you when you are a grown up.

Respect and Self-respect

The word ‘Respect’ is a term that has a broader meaning to it. Respect is a feeling that fills positivity in action or expression of a human being towards something. Respecting someone is a reflection of your ethical behavior. But, in modern times, unfortunately, people forget the values of respect. There are two aspects of respect, one is self-respect, and another one is the respect you give to people.

The meaning behind self-respect is profound. To love our self with honor and dignity is what we call as self-respect. With the help of self-respect, you respect your self. If you have self-respect, you will surely treat yourself with honor.

If you don’t give self-respect to yourself, you should not even expect respect from others. No one likes to respect an individual who doesn’t have self-respect.

If you don’t have self-respect, you might experience negative concerns for yourself. In those cases, the person has a higher chance of involving in wrong activities. That person also lacks self-confidence.

If you are mature and confident and feel great about yourself and believe that you are no less than anyone, you have self-respect. You will be more responsible and sincere towards your duties and responsibilities if you have self-respect.

You will feel much more reliable if you have self-respect compared to the person who doesn’t have self-respect. You will always stand for your rights, values, opinions, and many essential things in your life, if you have self-esteem.

If you have self-respect, you can improve your morality and ethical values, and also can make yourself valuable for others. Self-respect, overall, makes you a much better person.

Then comes the respect which we show for others. Respecting every human being is essential. For living and surviving in society, maintaining respect towards each other is essential. We usually give a basic level of respect towards everybody. The ones who are connected to our life, we give them respect properly.

Our parents, relatives, teachers, friends, colleagues, etc., these people generally influence our lives. By listening to someone properly and valuing their opinions, is the way we can give them respect. Giving somebody an equal chance to present his/her views is what we call giving respect.

Irrespective of different views on religion, political views, or cultural views, if we still give our consideration and understand the importance, this is another aspect of giving respect. Respecting other people’s religion is a sign of mature respect towards them. I am sure; everyone has some people in their life who hold the authority. We should always show respect towards that person.

So, lastly, respect is something which makes you feel good and positive, and it is a crucial element of everybody’s life. Respecting someone is always positive. For maintaining a good relationship and understanding between two people, we should maintain respect for each other. Everyone deserves respect, and in return, they should also respect others.
