Though short-term effects can be notice quickly, long term effect happen over time and in this case is more dangerous. Some long-term effects can cause a decrease in IQ, decrees ability to learn and perform complex task, lower life satisfaction, which could then lead to depression, it also effects the brain, lungs and immune system. Drugs like marijuana can make you do things that you usually wouldn’t, however unlike alcohol some of the side effects don’t wear off. When people take marijuana their ability to think and act is affected therefore, they do things they usually wouldn’t, by doing this, drugs also affect those around you. Social, legal and community effects, these are the main ways that marijuana can impact others. Marijuana affect others socially by relationships; when under the influence of marijuana side effects like confusion and altered memory and perception occur this causes disagreements and frustration which can cause family arguments and effect personal relationships. Marijuana is illegal in some countries and state, and laws are there to protect you, therefore if you are under the influence of marijuana illegibly you are breaking the law, this applies if you are using, making or importing the drug all will result in penalties. Some Community effects include the members of the community at risk, crime, financial problems, housing problems and homelessness all caused by there being drug users being in the community, this also causes the community to be looked down upon for being unsafe. Most people may be thinking that people should just stop having drugs like marijuana however it isn’t that easy because like marijuana drugs are very addictive and is hard to stop.

While alcohol and heroin are very addictive some people can argue that marijuana isn’t, however, research has shown that it is. While marijuana isn’t as addictive as other drugs and alcohol there is still the 1 in 10 chance that you could become addicted to marijuana. Becoming addictive to a drug is extremely bad, just like any other addiction it can take over your life, mentally, physically, emotionally and fanatically. Having an addiction to drugs is a major problem because an addiction isn’t easy to get rid of because being addictive means that it makes you carve it more and more the more you take it, this causes you to do things you normally wouldn’t do just to get drugs, this can harm you both mentally, physically and emotionally. The reason that drug addictions effect you fanatically because when you are addicted to drugs you find it difficult not to have them, however drugs aren’t free, in fact they are quite expensive, this will then drain your finances. Being addicted to a drug like marijuana is life changing and can be difficult to get out of there for to prevent being addicted don’t do illegal drugs.
