Life is not as hard as we sometimes make it to be. All fingers are not equal and some were born more fortunate than some others. Bearing this in mind, we should learn to cut our coats according to our coat.
Social media has got people living a fake life, snapping pictures with borrowed clothes and borrowed car. Some hangout not because they indeed want to hangout but because they seek beautiful spots for their gallery and upload on Facebook and Instagram. It is a crazy world. They make You feel like you are a failure because you do not dress like them. They make you feel you are not living up to expectation because you don't pictures of you in fancy restaurants. When did life become a competition?
When do we start caring about what people would say? This makes many people go overboard and end up with piles of IOU's and debts unpaid just because they want to measure up to a life that isn't theirs. There is a reason why there are public schools and private schools. That your friend's kids attend the most expensive school in town doesn't mean you have to rob a bank to measure up. There are actually nice public schools and very good cheap private schools. It is not always about how expensive the school is but sometimes about the quality of teachers and method of teaching.
It's such a pity when I see people live in houses they can't afford or buy cars with loans. I as a person kicks against taking a loan to buy a house or buy a car especially when you know that the only means of paying such loan back is borrowing another loan. Why live on loan when you can actually live within your means buy living in a decent house you can afford and jumping the bus until you save enough to buy your own car.
When your expenditure is more than your income you would always run into debts with no savings. We should learn to plan our lives and live within our means. We should learn to always draw up our list of priorities and learn to have alternative forgone.
Life is not a competition. Do not follow the multitude. Instead of eating in a restaurant everyday, learn to cook, you will actually save more. Do not buy things you have no need for just because you want to belong. Do not hangout every night and waste money on bottles of alcohol just because you want your friends to respect you as someone who has money. It is just alcohol, you will pee it out even before you get home.
Watch the kind of friends you keep. Do not make friends with people who are wasteful and have no saving habits. I am not saying you should form an association of poor people, no dear. There are actually rich people who kept to these principles and it got them to where they are today. Making friends with such people will help you understand life better.
He who fails to plan, plans to fail. Your future is in your hands and only you can decide how well it turns out from the decisions you make today. Do not follow the trend. Be yourself. Be original!
