Does sleep deprivation deteriorate school and daily performances?
Due to a lack of sleep, school and daily performances will be affected in a negative way and start to deteriorate as students are unable to get the sufficient number of hours of sleep.
As I myself am stuck in this situation of sleep deprivation and have overlooked it for years on end, I thought that it would only be sensible to see if sleep plays a major role in the physical and mental performances of teenagers in the surrounding society. I feel as if a lot of teenagers are unaware as to how much sleep is needed , and thus therefore will bring awareness to this subject, it may not enhance scientific knowledge in a whole but it will certainly bring awareness to the community. Teenagers can often get caught up in their daily activities and still have to come home after a long day to complete assignments and to study for upcoming tests, in this they get caught up and lose all sense of time and can often overwork themselves, stress themselves out and completely forget that they need a certain number of hours of sleep.
What I possibly intend to achieve with this research is for the youth to become more aware of how important sleep is in their lives. I would like for society to be taking a step back from all these so called “addictions” and focus on their own well being, to put sleep first in order to go through each day. Sleep is the modt important basic function a human needs to fufill in order to take care of anything else that follows and is needed to continue daily tasks, by reducing sleep, this reduces your ability to complete certain tasks.
Sleep deprivation is the condition of not getting enough sleep; it can either be chronic or acute. This occurs when an individual gets less sleep than they need to feel awake or alert. more vulnerable. Although occasional sleep interruptions are generally not a major problem, but the ongoing lack of sleep can lead to excessive daytime sleepiness, emotional difficulties, poor job performance swell as a lowered perception of quality of life. I had read a book a couple years ago called: Sleep Deprivation and Disease; Effects on the Body, Brain and Behavior - Matt T.
I will be collecting the required information to complete this research task through the targeted age groups from 12-25, this will give me a wide range of results. The people that will be involved will be that of the youth that are attending secondary education as well as those who are attending primary education at Universities. My results will be recorded via a survey that I will be conducting, and will be presented in tables to provide accurate interpretations going forward.
The Participants with the sleeping patterns that had been unstable and very inconsistent had proved that their abilities to complete their daily tasks that they had set out for themselves had lead to nothing but coming up short and not being able to attain and perform to the best of their abilities. These participants whom had been identified to have the inconsistent sleeping patterns were the same to who would socialize more, have the higher intake of Energizers throughout the day and the need for more fruit intake on the regular. The reasons for the intake of additional energy is due to the lack of health benefits that these participants are receiving and a result in the deprivation of the full sleep that had been needed to carry out these tasks. The results of those who were sleep deprived to having headaches is caused due to the increased expression of proteins p38 and PKA which is linked to the developing of a chronic pain. The increased expression of these proteins is due to the human body not being able to get the amount of necessary sleep for carrying out the tasks and performances. On the contrary those participants who had the more consistent sleeping patterns and the ability to get a sufficient amount of hours sleep showed the paradoxical results of those who hadn’t. Participants with the sufficient sleep were able to set out more daily tasks and possessed the ability to complete these tasks and were significantly more organized with the way they had lived their life in terms of their health as they had been receiving all the vitalities that sleep holds instead of needing to find superficial substances to fill the void that sleep does.
Due to the lack and inconsistency thereof sleep, the participants were unable to achieve the daily tasks of which they had set out to do. This then proves that due to a lack of sleep, an individuals ability to attain what they have put their minds to would be hindered as they are lacking the vitalities and benefits that sleep actually brings into ones lifestyle. Instead those who have consistent sleeping patterns are able to perform on a whole new level which allows them to access parts of their bodily functions which would otherwise be unavailable to those with sleep deprivation. The hypothesis had been achieved and proved right.
