How Fake News Spreads Like a Real Virus

World in this era of advanced technology and development in almost all the fields. The thing which has been recently became too problematic for all us is the “Spreading of Fake News”. Due to the upbringing that we have went through it has created a sort of trust on the news we read. Now a days what happen as I have already pointed out in the beginning? “Technology” because of which we have developed of habit of reading news first of all published on social media. Usually in the morning with a cup of tea our eyes search for a news which is basically spicy, peppery and piquant. Majority of the news uploaded on social media is fake.

One of the most significant means of spreading fake news. Due to globalization which is a boon and could be only possible because of the development of these social media apps. Almost we all are some way or the other way round connected to these social apps. Be it a WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, WeChat, Google+, Instagram, Skype, snapchat, Hike, Telegram, Tumblr etc there is a unexhausted list. These all social media brought a revolution of globalization but at the same time serves as a background for the fake news getting spread across the world on the click of the fingertip. It becomes very problematic to find the real source who has uploaded such fake news. Ultimately we all experience that even we becomes a part of it.

Due to the spreading of these fake news like a fire in a forest. Its repercussion is really pathetic. Sometime it leads to violent protest, mob lynching and even people starts committing suicide. I would like to throw a light on the incident which took place recently and we all came across to it. Screening of the movie “Padmavat” fake stories were built up that this movie tries to destroy our history and creates a black spot on the name and fame of Rajputana community. All the people without understanding and finding the original theme started protesting violently. Even one person hanged himself on some fort of Jaipur. Second scenario when Supreme Court abolished the SC/ST atrocity Act. In most of the social media it was conveyed that “Reservation” has been cancelled now because of which it led to catastrophic result.

The police department is asking people to at least find the original source of the news or at least go through the news thoroughly before posting it with their own Whim’s and fancies title. They even transformed one of the dialogue used in Sacred game movie recently released “Jab tak fake news ka ye khel khatam nahi hoga, apun idharich hai”.
