The Battle of the Alamo during Texas' war for independence from Mexico lasted thirteen day and was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. Mexican troops during the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar killed most of the Texians and Tejanos inside. The Mexican forces lose in the Battle of the Alamo between 600 and 1,600 men.
The Battle of the Alamo became a symbol of heroic resistance for the Texans. According to many accounts of the battle, between five and seven Texians surrendered. The victory ensured the success of Texan independence.
