We have a lot of jobs that are available everywhere. Nowadays, nurses are in demand wherever we go. Because of what is happening now, the nurses are one of the most important people that we all need. They are playing a big and important role in helping patients to recover fast. Now, in our essay, we will talk about the difference between a company nurse and a clinic nurse. What are their responsibilities and why they are in contrast to each other in other aspects?
First, we will go on the description and explain the responsibilities of a company nurse. A company will hire a nurse who can provide basic healthcare services to its company's employees anytime. She should know how to give first aids when badly needed by a particular person. It is required for her to be responsible for doing a health assessment for all employees. Company nurses are doing all of this as a prevention for any health problems of the employees so the company can lower the company health costs. Because they are working in a company, their shift is standard and straight from 8 am to 5 pm and before they leave they should report to the administration of office head directly. They are also working in a typical office set up with one bed for the patience or employee who needs to be checked.
Part of the responsibility of the company nurse is to provide the basic health care needed by the employees within the vicinity of their company only. Company nurse should always ready to do their duty especially when some emergencies happened inside the company during her working hours if someone needs to have the treatment and need a medication she should administer it. Company nurses are also responsible for checking good provider of healthcare or health insurance for all employees, she is the one who will coordinate with the provider to have a schedule for the physical and annual exams for all their employees.
In terms of the qualifications, a company nurse should have a bachelor's degree and also should have experience in giving first aid, she knows how to handle pressure and any emergencies, she should know how to comfort the employees who are not feeling well or in pain and she can explain the problems very clearly, lastly, she must have good communication skills in verbal and written.
Next, a clinical nurse is normally working in a private clinic or hospital. She is the one who will assist the doctor or physician in taking care of their patients. The clinical nurse always takes and monitors the vital signs of the patients before and after the doctor's procedure. She will check the blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate it is for them to know if patients can undergo the procedure or no. Part of her responsibility is to prepare all the needed equipment and instruments that the doctor will be used. During the doctor's procedure, the clinical nurse will assist him until it is done. She is also the one who will give particular equipment the doctor is needed and also during the procedure she must do interaction with the patient to help him or her to be calm so she may help the doctor to continue the necessary procedures or treatment needed.
After any treatment of the patient, she will explain to the patient all the medications prescribed by the doctor. It is her responsibility also to monitor and observe all the patients, she needs to visit them one by one and she needs to record all her observations. Most of the time patients are having more contact with the clinical nurse than the doctors, that's why she must have all the records and history of their patients. Once she found that there are some concerns or problems in their patient, she has to report all her observations and findings to the doctor.
After the doctor's operations or treatment, the clinical nurse should clean all the equipment that the doctor used, just to maintain the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of the equipment before and after the doctor used it. The clinical nurse also has a duty in communication. The clinical nurse is indeed the first and last person who will communicate with their patient and doctor. Before and after the doctor's procedure, she must explain all information and instructions from the doctor to the patient for fast recovery.
In terms of qualification, a clinical nurse should have license or she is a registered nurse with experience in the said responsibilities and duty. She must know how to handle emergency and critical situations.
To summarize, both company nurses and clinical nurses have different responsibilities because they are in different working places, but both of them are a good and decent job. These two are not an easy job, and both are required to have compassion in helping others to get well. These professions have always been about caring and helping patients and that is their similarity. Most of the time in the small company clinic or the hospital, they are the ones who understand the overall situation and condition of their patient. They can see what is the bigger picture in any situation of their patients. It is so proud to say that both of these two jobs deserve salute and respect. Any kind of nursing job is so important to all the patients, they are the ones who willingly take care of and love those people who are in need to be taking care of. Without all the nurses it will be so hard for the doctors to do any procedure and treatment for their patients, it is also hard for the patients to be recovered in the hospital without the monitoring of the nurse. They are so important, but sometimes some people are not giving them importance. It should be fair for them if they will be treated like how we treated and respected all the doctors. Remember, they are risking their lives for their patients to feel better.
