Technology might hold many benefits but is overall detrimental towards developing people's creativity. With technology, many resources and ideas are unlocked under people's fingertips. Because of the great number of amenities available thanks to technology, people are slowly turning away from churning up their own conceptions. There are so many tools available with a few clicks that people feel no need to have to use their brain to come up with their own thoughts. Technology has overall hindered creativity as it takes away from being independent and entices people to rely on it with how easy it is to use.
People become increasingly dependent on technology as it gives them a feeling of power. People can easily unlock knowledge and ideas just by typing a few letters on a device. Humans have been looking for easy ways to do work ever since the beginning of time. An example of this could be water filters. People invented these, so they would not have to go through a long process of heating up the water to get rid of its bacteria, making their job easier. The same is with technology as pouring through books for information or thinking for long periods of time for coherent thoughts took too long so humans tried to look for the easiest way to do the same job. Although it is much easier to search for resources online, people have lost their unique touch to such things as these ideas are not their own. It also leads to them not wanting to think of concepts as there is an easier way.
Because of this easy way out, people feel that thinking of their own concepts is too much work as they could easily just find an answer within seconds. They could easily spend a few seconds to use someone else's ideas. The availability of technology is so quick and widespread that it ends up tricking people to think that the easy, not as original way is the best way. It has taken away the long, creative process from people, replacing it with a short, unoriginal way. This is detrimental as people are hardly thinking up their own postulations.
Technology allows people to access many concepts and resources. Although that is an amazing tool to use, it is overall harmful as it takes away from people coming up with unique ideas. I have fallen into this trap many times as well. When thinking of possible project ideas, I sometimes do not stop to think of what ideas I could do and instead head immediately to the internet to see what others have done. There is endless possibility stored in technology, but this is used in the wrong way as people use it to discover and use thoughts that are not their own.
