Telling a person what not to eat is always being easily said than done. No matter how many times you tell yourself, “tomorrow I will start my diet” or “I would definitely enroll in that Zumba class to help me get active again”. Being healthy is a journey and fighting off the bad vices in this world will be hard especially if you are accustomed to an unhealthy lifestyle.
People have this certain power over their minds and they get easily persuaded with the smell of good food. We are all guilty of that one way or another. But the brutal truth is that what we eat matters to our cardiovascular system.
We need to take good care of our hearts and inculcate in our minds that everything too much is bad. The culprits for having heart diseases are common from cholesterol and sodium to fat are considered wreckers. Thank God you’re here reading this because you can definitely avoid these foods that can kill you in the long run.
Carbonated Drinks
Sodas are considered heart wreckers for the reason that they are composed of simple sugars. The more that your intake sodas, all the more that you put stress on artery walls making you at risk of heart failure. Besides, drinking soda can let you gain weight faster and would result to more complicated diseases.
Chinese Take-Out
Who wouldn’t love a Chinese take-out? But oops! Chinese restaurants always have spring rolls and other deep-fried breading present in their menus. Their noodles are also sauté with sauces that are too oily and sugary to pass as “healthy”.
Processed Meat
Processed meats mean processed carbohydrate and the most bad thing for the heart is too much carbohydrates. High processing food would mean it’s exposed to a lot of chemicals and substances that removed all the healthy stuff in the meat. Some processed meat also shows some product sweeteners that is not natural for meat. Some examples of processed meats are sausages, hot dogs, and deli cuts.
Pastries & Baked Goodies
For the nth time, too much sweet can lead to heart disease. Whatever kind of sugar or a combination of one or more can eventually kill you. We have corn syrups, maple syrups, molasses, honey, table sugar, brown sugar, white sugar, and other sweeteners are root causes of oxidative stress, as presented by a study in Canada.
Margarine
For the record, it depends on the margarine. If you happen to have a margarine that has a higher component of hydrogenated oils then it is a big no for you. Studies show that high trans fats can raise the risk of heart disease. So be sure to check the label of your groceries!
Pizza
Pizza is harmful for your heart because of the saturated fat that is present in this kind of food. It is in fact one of the leading causes of that fat to USA. If you have more than 2 slices, remember that pizza will start clogging your artery and will stay in your waistline for a long time.
