Technology aids in the understanding of the brain and presents the experts with a representation of the way the neurons and the brain operate. Following the technological advancements in the past years, various countries have invested heavily in brain research, such as the United States, which invested in “BRAIN” (Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies) in 2013. This was developed to bring about new tools for assisting in discovering how the neural circuits operate and to curbing brain diseases. Japan has brain/ “MINDS” (Brain Mapping by Integrated Neurotechnologies for Disease Studies), which kicked off at the end of 2014,and its main purpose is to focus on primates, particularly the marmoset to be able to model and find out more about brain disorders. China has lately commenced its Brain project, which looks into brain-inspired technologies, neural circuits, and brain disorders. The European Union also came up with the human brain project in 2013,concentrating more on the brain database and dealing with data acquired from brain projects around the globe (Gilles & Nelson, 2012).
These four organizations have a lot of similarities when it comes to how technology is developed, how it changes and interrelates. One of the major requirements to enable these firms to achieve desirable results and meet international coordination is to collaborate and focus on the purposes intended for the technology. All the countries involved have realized that no single nation is fully equipped with technology that can achieve a complete understanding of the brain. Scientists have agreed on different areas of technological strengths and are working together to meet the needs of the people and achieve global goals. In early phases of any of these organizations’ innovation towards the comprehension of the brain, technology was used in isolation to simply important new knowledge, but as time continues, some organizations have learned to combine these technologies to provide integrated results.
All these organizations, coming up with innovations to help comprehend how the brain works, look forward to achieving a general understanding of the brain that can lead to a breakthrough in the medicine field. Technologyhas played the major role in advancing this field of research. Despite the mere fact that these organizations are looking forward to understanding the human brain, technology is being a significant input to ensure that more medicines to cure brain diseases are developed as the common goal across the globe. In the four organizations, technology is broadly used to propel neuroscience in all its capabilities; the pace at which this technology is being used is accelerating in a dramatic way, and the U.S is willing to capitalize on this by launching research centers to develop and revolutionize people's understanding of the brain.
There are some differences among the four organizations in how technology is developed or interrelated. Limited technology as well as the lack of expertise in the previous years has been the main challenges in the development and progression of these entities.Over the last one decade, however, most countries have been able to experience a major technology advancement that has helped the neuroscientist to study the brain more intensely. All the organizations have managed to use diverse innovation technologies from diverse disciplines that meet at a certain point, and this has resulted in massive discoveries. Nevertheless, this has been achieved from totally different scopes according to the technological ability of every single country, such as funding issues, expertise, and needs. In all the four organizations, there is a heavy investment in technological advancement to ensure that the study of the neural circuits is heavily researched on to be able to transform the idea of understanding the brain of a human being (Kershaw, Beamish, &Eagleman, 2015).
According to different technology capabilities, different organizations are focusing on different areas of neuroscience, and the BRAIN can get an overview of the brain at a high resolution or can choose to study a large area of the brain using low resolution and at the same time whole brain imaging. All the four organizations are using entirely different methods to make this study possible using the technological capability that each entity possesses. Despite the ability to use similar technology innovations, various organizations have specialized in researching diverse topics within the study of the brain (Campbell, Campbell,& Rudnicki, 2009).
