This article discusses the impacts of criminal parents on children. The article discusses a study conducted on 394 families in England to examine the relationship between delinquent parents and the possibility of their children of becoming criminal. The findings of the study stress the fact that delinquency transfer from one generation to the subsequent in the sense that nearly 5 percent of the families in the study were responsible for half of the criminal conviction in the whole sample. The study refers to other studies that stress the previous facts. For example, the study hints to the research that professor Kevin Wright summarizes it.

The research assures that criminals tend to have delinquent parents. Professor Kevin also refers to Robins’ study that argues that there is the children of both delinquent father and mother are more likely to be criminals. This applies to girls and boys. The study moves to another part that is the effect of child’s neighborhood in his or her behavior. The study assures those violent parents contribute to the violent behavior of their children. The study refers to the National Survey of Children Exposure to Violence in 2011 that stresses that children who expose to violence in their homes, schools, and communities tend to commit crimes like theft, fraud, and drugs.

This indicates that not only internal family violence but also the child’s neighborhood contributes to his or her violent behavior. The third part of this article talks about the rejection that children of delinquent parents suffer from.

Most normal children avoid accompanying those children because they are characterized by violence and aggressiveness. Therefore, those children resort to accompany other deviant children who share the same violent behavior as many studies suggest.
