The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is a U.S. government agency that is responsible for many scientific and technological achievements. In response to the early successes of Soviet space, NASA was established in October 1958. This led to Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programmes being developed. In 1969, it led to the first human landing on the Moon. Through cutting-edge aeronautics work that has influenced our understanding of our solar system, NASA has continued to push the limits over the past sixty years. NASA already has astronauts on the International Space Station working and doing scientific research.
The products of NASA include launch vehicles, satellites for communication and weather satellites. This revealed a significant amount of Earth data. This led to fundamental research on weather patterns, developments in flight charges and flight missions. Robotic space probes, like the Hubble Space Telescope, have achieved an understanding of our solar system and orbital spacecraft. This has altered our understanding of the universe drastically. Scientists have been able to observe the far reaches of space by the lunar roving vehicle, skylab, and space lab. NASA was also involved in developing a variety of state-of-the-art aircraft that helped improve air transport and flight mechanics systems. Other products include designing and developing propulsion systems and components ranging from micro thrusters to millions of pounds of force-producing systems. NASA is a conduit for international cooperation and hence depends on the private sector to help advance space exploration goals. NASA is partnering with other aerospace companies, including SpaceX and Blue Origin, and potential competitors. Projects include the programme of Artemis and the mission of Mars. Private firms have an advantage in making decisions or changes, as they tend to have a lower leadership structure compared to NASA.
Private companies demonstrated the ability to push through the development of technology, making extremely rapid changes in design and technology. The Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) are also competitors. The three biggest space agencies in the world are NASA, CNSA and ISRO. With respect to CNSA, the construction of satellites, shuttles and launch vehicles are currently involved. It is also the first country to land on the far side of the moon, symbolising the prosperity it has gained and the resources it has. The CNSA and NASA have the ability to collaborate in the future or to start a new space race. As of today, because of national security concerns, NASA has not partnered with CNSA.
The Chinese space programme is aiming to have a fully operational space station in orbit of Earth by 2022 and to send a probe to Mars. In its first attempt, the Indian Space Research Organization became the first to enter Mars orbit. It also possesses one of the largest amounts of communication and remote-sensing satellites. With respect to the ISRO, it is extremely efficient and has an advantage in the execution of low-cost space missions, but compared to ISRO, NASA has a more productive space mission and a greater annual budget. These three space agencies are consistently maintained as the world's top three space agencies.
The website of NASA is at www.nasa.gov. It includes relevant information on past missions, history, leadership, news and discoveries. The website also provides information about future projects and new technologies that they are planning to develop. As mentioned earlier, the three largest space agencies in the world are NASA, CNSA, and ISRO. Nonetheless, compared to its competitors, NASA performs better. Similar to ISRO and CNSA, NASA has a more productive space mission and a larger annual budget. NASA's future projects include Mars 2020 rover planned to search for past life signs, collect samples for a future return to Earth, and investigate resources that might support astronauts one day. A new product called the James Webb Space Telescope will be used to study in infrared the history of our universe, while the Parker Solar Probe will travel closer to the sun's surface than any previous spacecraft. Also, a new mission planned for the moon of Jupiter called for Europe to begin in the 2020s. This will also improve the market position of NASA Company.
