The current constitution allows the citizens a number of rights and liberties of which marriage is one of these rights. Gay marriage is part of marriage and thus it is not good when some people end up criticizing the homosexuals and their beliefs. To make the matter worse, it is only those who are followers of man-to-woman marriage who are seen to be opposed to gay marriage despite the fact that the homosexuals do not criticize and oppose their marriage. It is thus unfair to see the majorities opposing the marriage practices of the homosexuals who are the minorities (Newton & David). The constitution is very clear on matter of equality where it is illegal for one party to oppress other due to the fact that they are the minorities in the society or based on other factors.

It is equally important that it is noted that marriage is a factor of love that develops between two people and it is unfair when a third person comes in to criticize the affection that is associated with this love. Getting to marriage is a mutual thing that requires the decision of the two people in love and thus they should be given time and space to enjoy the fruits of their love which they have developed over time. The definition of marriage does not exclude gay marriage and thus those in it and practicing it, are legally right and should not be questioned about it. It feels a lot for the homosexuals who are fought in all ways. Their practices and organizations they have formed so far are fought in all avenues to an extent they feel they are not part of the society. This is not right and the government should make it clear that gay marriage and those in it are part of the society and should not be segregated when it comes to job allocation and inclusion in the various social amenities that are provided by the government.

The fight that is currently on going is unfair bearing in mind it is one religion that is mostly opposed to it and propagating this fight. It would be good if it happens that the groups fighting gay marriage constitute members drawn from all religions and other phases of the society. This would create a scenario where even the supporters of gay marriage are involved to deliberate on the way forward. This is what will clearly put on the table the matters that affect both the homosexuals and other people in the society. This will help in proving that gays are common citizens and who have the right to marriage and should not be discouraged. The most important thing that should be understood is the fact that homosexuals are not criminals and should thus not be fought. They should only be opposed if only it is determined beyond doubts that they are getting involved in other illegal practices in the society that are not permitted in by the law(Newton & David)..

There is need for gay marriage to be upheld in the society in the recent times owing to the fact that they are high cases of divorce in the United States. It is determined that about 50% of the married people in the United States end up divorcing soon after they are legally married. Most of these divorce cases are attributed to the incompatibility and infertility that results after a couple is largely joined. Gay marriage is not meant for reproduction purposes and thus legalizing and supporting it is a good strategy that the society can utilize to reduce the divorce rates which are currently on the increase.

It is important that it is understood that gay marriage does not have any effects on the religious practices that are supported by the church. The teachings of the church are tied to the Ten Commandments which are very sacred. It is the church that defines marriage as a legal and sacred union between man and woman but the Ten Commandments does not have this definition. It is from this definition of marriage by the church that makes the believers to refer to homosexuals as sinners. This is not supported by the provisions of the federal government and thus fighting gay marriage is illegal. Legalizing gay marriage will thus have no impact on the church and the teachings that are available to the believers.

In most parts, gay marriage is already a reality and many people are practicing it. The communities in these areas are aware of these trends where most of them are now accepting those practicing it. Fighting gay marriage in these communities which have already accepted it will be of no use and the struggle will bear no fruits by the end of it. The most important thing is to advocate for safe relationships for those in gay marriage to avoid cases of infidelity which can result into a number of dangers such as diseases and killings. Advocating for faithfulness to those married will be a good thing to invest in more than spending time and resources fighting gay marriage. In the United States, most of those supporting and practicing gay marriage are great supporters of the economy and trying to fight their practices will generate negative results to the economy. The best thing is to let them continue enjoying their rights as homosexuals as this will not create an economic crisis. Fighting them has high chances of making them withdraw their services and this will see the economy progressing at a slow pace, hence the common citizens will end up suffering from the effects of increased cost of living (Corvino, John &Maggie Gallagher).

In the recent times, the have been cases of teens who end up committing suicide due to the segregation that they are shown due to their differences in sexual orientation. Most of them are bullied by their counterparts who are opposed to gay marriage and the fact that they are the minorities; they do not have a better voice to limit this oppression and the resulting mistreatment. When things get worse, they lack another option in life and they turn to suicide as the only way to stay free from this kind of oppression.

The number of homeless children is a bit high in the recent times and it is only through legalizing gay marriage that most of these children will be adopted and settled in homes. Most of the agencies which deal with homeless children are not currently giving out the children to be adopted by homosexuals (Badgett). If the government legalizes gay marriage, these agencies will not have an option of denying this adoption and this is a good way that the homeless children will end up being settled. This is a good chance that these children will be able to get good shelter facilities and education. The fact that most gays are rich people is an assurance that the adopted children will lead better lives and chances of them being oppressed are very low. Gay people do not give birth and this means the affection that human beings that have towards children will be directed to the adopted children, hence they will have improved and stable lives.
