The word ‘management’ according to Merriam-Webster dictionary is the act or art of conducting and supervising something either business or people. Meanwhile, family can be easily understood as the closest people around us, living together under the same roof with us. All the lifestyles, bad habit, and weird routine about them we knew exactly since we are the one who face them all day and night. In a family, of course parents are the top brass in handling every single things happened in daily life to ensure all aspect are under control. Parenting is like the management position in a family where they guide and responsible in making decision within the family matters. Thus, it is crucial for parents to master the parenting and management skills to raise up a good children.
Unfortunately, not everyone possess these parenting skills in themselves but everybody can develop these skills day by day with their children. Remember, after you married and have children, you need to learn to manage their time, emotions, money, habits, health and so much more. It’s all on your shoulder now! The Children Act 1989 had stated the legislative guidance on the parental responsibility so that the parents understand their obligations towards the children. Being a parents in this era is quite challenging because there are many components to be put in mind. Children tend to become someone according to the culture where they were raised, so if the parenting part is not done right it might later affect the children development. Parenting skills comprised of many elements such as planning, decision making, problem solving, time management and communication. However, the most vital part out of all is love. A research by a child psychologist, Robert Epstein, he pointed that “that the best thing we can do for our children is to give them lots of love and affection. ” Yes, love. Show your love to your children, and most of the elements above can be done effortlessly.
Through love, you will automatically spend time with them, hearing all their problem, communication will become more comfortable and eventually the bond between parents and children become closer. Showing your love can be as simple as hugging and listening to their chitchat, and by these small practice the children will feel more nurtured and protected, as if they have someone to rely on. After all, the goal of parenting and management skills in family is to improve the wellbeing of children so that their family become their life ultimate happiness. Even though it is not easy, but if we work towards them slowly, we will still moving to the right direction.
