Goals are the most important thing in a person’s life, without them your life would just be plain and boring not excitement at all. Without making goals in your life you would have nothing to look forward to, or even have anything to achieve. The three type of goals that I am going to cover in this essay are my personal goal which is to move out at the beginning of summer. My academic goal with is to get my associates degree in science and transfer to Florida State University or the University of Florida. Finally my career goal, which is to major in aeronautical engineering, and minor in atmospheric science. Setting these goals is going to help make my life flow much easier and give me something to look forward to.
The first goal I would like to talk about is my personal goal, moving out at the beginning of summer. In order for me to succeed that this goal I have to proceed with a few major and minor things. The first thing I must do is find a roommate someone that is not going to be a stick in the mud, but they will also be responsible enough to pay their part of the bills each month. This person has to be loyal and I have to be able to trust them with my life since after all we will be living together. Secondly, I have to find a place that both me and my roommate can afford each month even if we have a bad month at work and do not make a lot of money. The third thing i must do after I find the place I am going to stay at is go to the water and electric place and have all of that turned on and put the first down payment on the place down. Finally the last step is everything that I have in my parents’ house must be moved to my new place. New appliances must be bought for the new house. Hopefully all of this will go smoothly.
The second goal I am going to discuss is my academic goal. My academic goal consist of me getting my associates degree in science and transfer to either Florida State University or the University of Florida. In order for my to do this I have to bundle up on some classes and not waste my time by failing classes at NWFSC. But in order for this to happen I have to take my schooling a lot more serious than I did in high school. High school I just did enough work to get myself a good grade. But in college I have to do better and push myself to get that better grade so I do not fail. Also some of the classes that I am taking in NWFSC may not be a requirement and even though some of them might be very boring and I not interesting to me I have to stick with them and not give up. Finally I want my GPA to be high so when I do try and transfer it will be a lot easier for me to do it. Also think it would be cool to play college hockey at one of those schools.
The third and last goal I am going to share in my career goal. My career goal consist of two parts, a major in aeronautical engineering and a minor in atmospheric science. I want to go into the field of aeronautical engineering because I like to do hands on things and have a challenge every day when I am at work. Also I grew up around airplane because of my dad being in the military and working on the planes. So I might as well do something I know a lot about and have a lot of interest for. Now I think atmospheric science would be a phenomenal minor to have because when I was 10 and we were moving from Alaska to North Carolina. I witnessed my first thunderstorm ever. Never had thunderstorms in Alaska so it was all new to me and ever since then I have been I interested in the weather. But not just thunderstorms; but hurricanes, tornadoes all kinds of storms. But my major goal is to get my master’s degree in both aeronautical engineering and atmospheric science. I figured this will take me between 8 and 12 years to complete; but I know in the long run it will all be worth it.
In conclusion having all of these goals is going to make my life interesting and hopefully helping set myself up for success in life. But everyone needs to make a goal whether it is a person, academic or career goal. So make a goal stick with it, and see where it takes you. It could actually make your life fun and more enjoyable.
