This essay explores about the topic hypoxic training devices. The article discusses the meaning of hypoxic training and the devices that are involved in this type of training. It talks about its usage by the athletes to boost their performance. The information about the training mask is also mentioned and it works is also discussed. Further, the conclusions of different studies are also mentioned regarding this topic. Moreover, this article includes the benefits and disadvantages of such kind of training methods and devices.

The training devices used to increase the performance and endurance of the sportsperson is known as hypoxic training devices. This method is a drug free and usually helps the athletes to improve their performance. These devices came into origin in the year 1990. The first countries to introduce this method were Scandinavia and America. There are many benefits of using them. It aids in adapting their bodies in low supply of oxygen. It has been utilized for quite a long time to enhance execution.

There are different devices for the hypoxic training. The sportsperson in Olympics use such kind of devices to increase their level of performance since past years. For example, hyperbaric sleeping chambers, low oxygen tents, portable hypoxic machines and so on. These kinds of devices for training are used at high altitudes. At high heights, the atmospheric pressure is low; this results in reduction of the partial pressure of the oxygen. The air becomes more slender, which is the reason breathing becomes troublesome. As a result of this, there is decreased oxygenation of the blood and this gives less oxygen that gets transported to and used by the muscles. The rise in hemoglobin, density of the capillary, and oxygen delivery to the muscles is seen during low partial pressure at heights if we use such methods.

The hypoxic mask is cheapest out of all. The hypoxic mask works by confining the airflow when used by someone. This strengthens the respiratory muscles and makes hypoxemia. Hypoxemia refers to the low blood oxygen levels. This leads to improved performance of the athlete climbing to great heights and therefore creates hypoxemia. As mentioned earlier the use of such methods and devices aids in increasing the performance and helps to endure. The measure of the oxygen in the body that can be changed over into energy from the food taken is known as VO2. This works through the transformation of the eaten food into ATP.

On the other hand, regarding estimating how much a competitor has enhanced when it happens to execution, the term is known as VO2 max. This condition is accomplished via preparing at high elevations and guarantees enhanced execution and continuance. All this makes the body create more erythropoietin. Erythropoietin is a hormone secreted by the kidneys. This hormone escalates the production rate of RBCs during the low oxygen in the tissue. The making of erythropoietin increases the capacity of work by the increase in the red blood cells as mentioned above. The mask has several valve caps that can be used according to the level of elevation. Hypoxemia made by low airflow is beneficial, and apparently powerful approach to copy heights.

A study was conducted regarding the use of hypoxic training methods and devices that was based on swimming. The exercise was done at high intensity. It was seen that swimmers performance increased by the advancement in the anaerobic capacity. It’s appeared in the research that it’s a more prominent weight on the body preparing at hypoxia contrasted with normoxia adrift level so it gives a ton of adaptions which are advantageous, for example, glucose transport, pH control and glycolytic proteins are altogether made strides. Although there are no specific cons about using such devices are mentioned but training under this method can affects somewhat. The immunity can be affected which can result in diseases. It is the responsibility of the athlete to take proper nutrition when training especially at altitude levels. Other is that increase in the cortisol level in the body may lead to stress because of less oxygen supply. This puts a lot of pressure on lungs and heart to work hard. This can result in muscle breakdown. It depends on different folks using such devices.

In conclusion, the use of hypoxic training method is rising and has several benefits that can boost the performance of the athletes with the help of the devices.
