The Valuable Experience I Learned at Pennsville Soccer Association

My experience with the Pennsville Soccer Association has helped me become a more sociable person. I have always been extremely shy, ever since I was a kid. I can remember starting soccer at four years old and not really wanting to participate or talk to any of the other kids playing on my team. However, by the end of my first season I was having so much fun that I was running around and laughing with the other children. I found my love for soccer then, and I continued to play up until I was around thirteen or fourteen years old because my team was disbanded. I had the same coach for the majority of my time playing for youth soccer, and I can recall clearly how he did not want me to play goalie because he was afraid I was not aggressive enough. When I first started out playing youth soccer, I did not have that aggressive passion that would allow me to play such an important position as goalie, but continuing to practice and play and love the sport led me to become a whole new person, and a much more confident one. Playing soccer is one of the first major influences that has made me a more confident and outgoing person, and I extremely grateful for it.

I have helped to further soccer in Pennsville because I have never given up my love for the sport. Even though my team disbanded a couple years before I entered high school and no other team picked me up, I continued to love soccer. I played it in my backyard all the time, in gym class, wherever I could. Many younger students have asked me what sport they should try to take up, and my first instinct is always to say soccer. It is such an enjoyable sport and I continue to encourage people of all ages to play it whenever they can.
