I firmly believe that we have social injustice here on the Philippines because the treatment to each person here is different from each other. Let me mention first that there are 3 types of social injustice. Homophobia discrimination and ageism and these three are primary examples of what we are currently facing in our country the Philippines.
Now some people get way too much than what they were supposed to get and the rest doesn’t even get enough from what was promised to them and this is not showing fairness and is showing inequality. Take this as an example, some men here on the Philippines are getting paid way much more than women do even though they did the same amount of work and this is unfair for women since they showed as much work as men do but still getting less than what they should be getting and this just showed us gender inequality. Also to mention that typically men have higher positions that women and usually they get promoted much faster than some women do. Some men still have the mindset that women are not capable of achieving what men can do and that still is discrimination since women should be seen as equal to men since women can do what men can do.
Another thing that justifies what I am saying are the LGBTQIA community and their rights. A lot of the members on this community are facing discrimination each day weather in work, out in the public, at malls, and even at their homes. They are constantly being discriminated and they need equality too. Just like what happened with Gretchen Diaz. The trans woman that was discriminated and was actually humiliated just because she wants to use the women’s rest room. The janitress stopped her and dragged her out of the line then she started to insult Miss Gretchen by calling her names and when Gretchen was properly asking why she was forced out of the rest room the janitress said “ kas inga may uten ka” that did greatly offend miss Gretchen Diaz. This scenario violated her rights in many ways and she was discriminated. People get discriminated by a lot of reasons too and racism is also one of them. Racism has already been an issue that other countries have to deal with since the very beginning people that use skin color as basis top what a person might be or might do. Honestly almost the whole world is facing that problem and Philippines is no exception.
People still discriminate one another because of their races whether you are Asian, Black American, White American, Native Hawaiian some people still has a lot to say about each other. Here on the Philippines People there still are some racial discrimination. People that are starting to age also feel some discriminations which is called ageism most people then think that they are incapable of doing practical stuff they already start to think less of them just by them judging people by their age. People that started to get through their 40’s or 50’s are starting to loose job offers and people start to stop hiring people at this age and this is still discrimination. Even if that person can do the job or not they usually get ignored once they know their age and this is still discrimination and we should stop thinking of this.
There is also some Discrimination in culture. Cultural differences is when people start to discriminate a person bases on their culture or beliefs. There is also some issues when it comes to the persons nationality. People with physical disability are those people that also feel inequality these people feel discriminated sometimes. Here on the Philippines discriminating people based on physical disability is not right. People tend to look down upon them and some even go as far as trying to be little them just because of their disability.
In conclusion, there is a lot more stuff I can say why for me there is no social justice here on our country. As I said before people treat each and everyone differently and people usually act differently on each terms. People can be utterly rude sometimes and they can make people feel bad most of the time making equality harder to grasp. All I can say is that we need equity and equality in this country prioritize the people that needs help the most them start to focus on making stuff better.
