Trauma at The Tunnel in Los Angeles: Emergency Response

Handling an emergency is always a difficult task where especially considering the fact that these events are not always planned. The initial response to the scene included three engine companies, which included a truck company, one paramedic, and a heavy rescue unit, which were all focused on different focus part of the emergency. The Los Angeles Fire department established communication with Los Angeles County Medical Alert center, which is responsible for coordinating large-scale incidents in the Los Angeles County. The medical alert center was significantly involved in reorganizing services while establishing the available emergency healthcare centers within the county, which provided a significant understanding on the best approach to handle the response process (Eckstein, 2009).

The emergency response is regulated at the state level where different emergency setup have been put in place to ensure that there is a quick response to emergency cases within their respective environments. The federal level is involved in setting up emergency services as well as offering training for emergency services to emergency service officers in order to improve their overall understand under which it is possible to understand the existing issues in managing an emergency crisis.
